We take both of our cats here and have nothing but great things to say. No matter which person examines our cats, they have always been thorough and kind. I have been very happy with this vet when our cats go for checkups, but they really stood out when one of my cats recently had a potentially serious issue. My cat swallowed some string from a toy and we were really concerned. We took him in for an exam and they recommended an ultrasound, scheduled the next day. By that point, my cat threw up a piece of the string and was acting normally. My husband showed them the photo of the piece and they did not go through with the ultrasound. The logic was that he was showing no symptoms and had thrown some of it up, so no matter the result, they would send us home to monitor him. They wanted to save us money and him a belly shave. The procedure was scheduled, we were there, and they could easily have made hundreds of dollars, but they did the most logical thing. This shows me how honest and reliable this vet is, and I don't hesitate to recommend them to others.

This place used to be very helpful until after the pandemic. It appeared the doctors practiced at higher veterinary skill. The front desk is so rude & unskilled. Quite frankly, I wouldn't bring my pet there for shots.
It appears their objective is to charge as much as possible to make the pet feel worse than before you brought them in. Their "office visit" is literally 10 minutes, wherein you only return for tests & they still can't cure the condition. Needless to say, vets are all thieves but at least some provide more skills. If you love your pet, stay away from there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David B.Center City, Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten0228. Dez. 2023
Have been taking my dog here since he was a puppy 4 years ago. Up to this point I would have rated this place a five star and have recommended many friends take their animals here. However, that 5 star rating was all due to basic appointments for shots and things that weren't emergencies or super time sensitive.
Since I finally had a bit of an emergency and saw how this place treats those cases my rating has changed to a 1 star since zero isn't allowed.
My dog was not acting normal so I called the office and they said send a video before bringing him in. Once the vet was able to look at the video she called me and told me that she could tell something was wrong and that my dog was in a lot of distress (and potentially pain). I was then told I had. 2 options: come in for an appointment in 7 and a half hours or go to the emergency vet. Instead of waiting 7 and a half hours and potentially have something be really wrong with my dog I went with option 2 and am going to spend 10x the amount of money.
The biggest gripe with the whole situation is the last time I had a routine appointment I waited over an hour after the scheduled time because they had a few emergencies come in (although the vet today said today that they don't have space for walk in emergencies which is extremely concerning) and on their website there's a nice long piece about how they will fit you in if your dog is having an emergency which is apparently a lie and just on there to make you feel better.
So if all you need from your vet is a routine visit then this place will work. But if anything ever goes wrong and you didn't plan ahead and make an appointment I'd probably look for a different vet, which I will now be doing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jarvis H.Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten024212. ABSOLUTELY NOT! I had a procedure set up for tomorrow. I called to confirm, the receptionist was rude. I asked for the price of the procedure and I could not get the information. At the end of the call I simply asked "so you are saying you cannot tell me the price." The receptionist hangs up the phone because I heard the phone hit the receiver.
So I walked over to the hospital and inquired why someone hung up on me, a bald guy at the receptionist table says that she did not hang up on me, in an aggressive manner. Well if no one hung up on my why not just say it was a misunderstanding?
You think I am handing my dog over to these morons? No...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tristin H.Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten15425814. Juli 2021
Went there today. They were fast and immensely helpful!!! They pointed out problems and solutions that my previous vet ignored. Looking forwards to continuing our relationship with this vet office!
Also important to note, everyone working there was friendly as could be to both me and my pup!
Would recommend to anyone looking for animal care.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alex H.Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten701023. Aug. 2021
We've been coming for a few years. The vets and vet techs are usually friendly and helpful, but we've had bad experiences with the people at the front desk.
During our most recent visit, we waited for nearly an hour to be seen. When I asked about the delay, the gentleman up front claimed that it was because of an "emergency."
When we were finally seen, the vet apologized and offered to waive the exam fee, which helped. She told me, however, that it was because the front desk staff never brought our chart back. In addition to the apparent dishonesty, the people at the front desk were indifferent to the unnecessary and lengthy delay.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kelly M.Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten1593. I'm so grateful to live near QVAH. My dog has historically had terrible visits at other vets because she does not like to be touched be strangers. She has to be muzzled and physical exams often involve a lot of thrashing and distress for my pup. We've been to QVAH twice and both times the doctors were incredibly patient and thorough. We were recently in because of a urinary tract infection and despite my dog's predictable response to the exam, they were able to diagnose and treat her. They were also able to squeeze me in same day, within an hour of my call. It doesn't get much simpler than that!

Although the care at this vet office is good, the office staff are inept. For over a month, I have requested my pets' records to be emailed or faxed to my new vet. My first request was 6 weeks in advance if my first visit at my new vet. A follow up call 4 weeks later (two weeks ago) to my new vet and no records were emailed/faxed from QVAH. So I made another request to QVAH.
Two weeks later, here I sit at the new vet and no records have been sent.
The ineptness isn't new (and not Covid related) as I often experienced many mishaps with the front desk, and this is on top of their rude and disinterested interactions with their (human) customers.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Monica Q.Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten2688373. Dez. 2021
Complete disregard for sick pets. My dog has a bad UTI and they sat on the results for two days and didn't provide treatment. I called them the next day after giving them a urine sample and they refused to give my dog meds until the vet reviewed the results. Dr Howard called back 2 DAYS later with results 30 minutes before the practice closed and I missed the call bc I was working. This was all information I shared with them the day prior. I asked in advance for the meds to be called into my local pharmacy because I wouldn't be able to make it in before they closed and she was too lazy to call it in and left me a VM saying she didn't know if anyone called it in. (And she clearly wasn't bothered enough to check herself) So now my dog has to wait the weekend for meds even though they've had her urine since Wednesday! (It's now Friday night) Oh and they have after hour vet availability if you want to use their recommended app and pay $45 for a televisit. What a joke. Some of the most negligent vet care I've seen in all of my dogs 12 years of life.
