This recently opened hotel is located close to the Sabiha Gokçen International Airport (about 5 minutes away by taxi - if the driver knows the direction!) ;-) But when you think "What?? Only 3 km away from Turkey's second largest airport?! It must be so loud there!" I can tell you, that this was my fear as well, but you hear nothing from the airport!
The room we had was quite huge and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was one of its kind and huge as well! The door to the bathroom was the only thing I could complain about, because it couldn't close entirely. Around the door was a space of about 1 cm.
The breakfast had a lot of variety and, what I love, when I'm in another country, local food - such as warm Sucuk, Halloumi, vegetables! The cheese selection was good, so was the cold cuts. The bread was very good (I especially loved the bun with lots of sesame on top!). Another thing that bothered me - on the first morning there was nobody, who served coffee, so we only drank juice and milk. The next morning there came someone and served us a bit - just one cup! In other Radisson Hotels, I've stayed in so far, they came by quite often, looked and when there was nothing left in the cup, they asked, if we wanted some more. Well, it's a new hotel, so one could think "What the heck! They'll learn it!" Fun fact - there was a group of French business people, who ordered breakfast and they did exactly there that, what I was missing! They should treat all guests equal!
The indoor pool area was okay and relaxing after a long day in Istanbul.
It's an hotel for business trips. If you want to see Istanbul, it takes you about 90-120 minutes to get to Kadiköy with the bus. The next train station is Kartal, until Tuzla or Içmeler trainstations have been finished. There is a local bus stop about 1,6 km away from the hotel and it's quite an adventure, but lots of fun - we loved it!
The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful, the staff in the breakfast room instead was a mixture of nice and reserved, with only a bit knowledge of English.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alperen D.Pendik, Türkei0115. Dez. 2018
