Ramada Encore Genève

Short version: don't go here!
Long version: don't go here cuz they have no clue about customer service! I called the front desk and asked for an iron and ironing board, they said come down and get it!!! When I went down, they asked for credit card or Swiss Frank as deposit for iron!!!!!
What the heck!

Checked in this morning and love the decor at the receptionist desk. Two beds pushed together to make one whole bed with red, white and brown colors with modern furniture. The bathroom is all see-through glass fixtures.

Absolutely love that its connected to La Praille "Shopping Center"!!

The Ramada Encore is located out of city downtown, but right next to the football stadium stade de genève. It is well-located for business people having meetings in Carouge. Right besides is a huge shopping mall (though i've never been there yet).

I was friendly welcomed by the staff and got to my clean room (though, honestly, I found a hair on the floor which hasnt been mine). The room is spacious, quiet and had a TV, a nice couch and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is nicely designed with mirrors and glasses. The shower is pretty cool with the stone floor, you got shampoo and gel at the wall.

In general, I have not anything to compare. Also the tap is a bit too close to the sink so it is a bit "different" washing hands.

I cannot say/recall if there was a safe (i think so) and a fridge (didnt use it). Further, you got the ticket for public transport included. Also, there is a nice breakfast buffet in the morning opening 6.30. You got the option of an express breakfast for only CHF 7.- allowing you to eat bread, cereals, jam n butter as well as fruit juices. Pretty nice deal.

I was surprised that this hotel is often booked out! So book quite well in advance. Good choice

This is my third stay and I've been impressed each time. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean and quite spacious for Europe. Initially I was hesitant to stay, but it's conveniently located within minutes of the city center and easy access to public transportation. Upon check in, you're provided a free public transportation pass, which is great for catching the bus directly in front of the hotel and heading to the city center.

The rooms are very modern and have everything you need - USB plugs, wifi, and a safe. The beds are two doubles put together, but that's not a problem - they each have their own duvet and are quite comfortable. The bathroom is small, but well appointed and has a great shower. If there is anything to complain about it, it's the bath gel. I'm a bar of soap guy, so the body gel dispenser doesn't do it for me, but it's certainly convenient in the shower.

The hotel is attached to a shopping center for those quick gifts home; a trip to the pharmacy; catching a movie; or throwing a few frames of bowling.

Don't be fooled - this isn't the Ramada of the US. It's very nice and the price is significantly less than the hotels in the city center.

Service unter aller s.. Rohr am Waschbecken kaputt-interessiert niemanden. Bad steht unter Wasser- interessiert nicht. Ich hab etwas auf dem zimmer liegen lassen / vergessen - nein, haben wir nie gefunden. Keine Hilfe , keine entschuldigung. Vielleicht sollte man das Wort hospitality mal nachschlagen bevor man ein solches hotel fuehrt. Ach so, und die Zeuge die direkt am Zimmer vorbeifahren machen es nicht besser. Miserables fruehstueck auch nicht.
