As a Lebanese American, I was shocked (not really) to find a Lebanese restaurant in, of all corners of the world, Basel, Switzerland. Phoenician blood runs strong and we remain world travelers.
Anyhow, on a Saturday night this place was one of the more busy restaurants. The service was excellent and our server and bus boy were very attentive. They speak English (yay for me!).
I ordered chich taouk (charbroiled chicken kabob) which came with a side of rice and hummos. I asked for garlic sauce to compliment the chicken which they brought free of charge and it tasted excellent.
The hummos was the only thing sub par but probably because I grew up eating the best hummos in the world by the greatest chef in the world ( shout out to my mama)- but other than that my meal was delicious. I also ordered lentil soup which was hot (great for a cold night) and hit the spot.
The decor is old Lebanese with random artifacts displayed around the place. They do serve hookah but only outside and there are no outdoor heaters anywhere in Basel.
Overall, this place was excellent- great food, service and ambiance.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
