Extra star for cool ambience and waiters. The service was great, very attentive. I had the fish of the day (Dorado) which was prepared very well with a crispy skin and a side of Caesar salad. The bathrooms are interesting with extensive directions!

Perfect stop after shipping in the outlet store next door. Aperol Spritz with a view of the canal. Worked for me. Would have liked tableside service.

Outdoor seating with a home furnishing store in the back.

Great food, but horrible service. The waiter hardly came to check on us. Wine glasses weren't refilled. Attitude was negative. I brought my boyfriend here bc I had head rave reviews about it, and I felt bad for taking him here. The wine list was great, though, and the Wiener schnitzel was awesome!

      The view: Calming
The beach: Yes, they have a beach!
      The pizza: Wunderbar! Tasty. Perfect.
The service: Hello... I'm over here... Hello?
The place: Old beautiful cars, beach with real sand, sun and God knows what. And a ship!

I would recommend this place highly, even if you have a bit to walk. It's even better after a long walk.

The service might just be that one person. Let's hope so. That's the minus.

The converted warehouse building housing Sage demonstrates that urban renewal does indeed have a future: before being born again as an incredibly spacious restaurant, the former brickwork building had been home to a silk factory and a coffee-roasting warehouse. Hats off to those with the "vision".

Although the place wasn't exactly heaving, it might have been more appropriate to have started with what was left on the menu rather than with what was no longer on it. (And while we're on that topic: belated congratulations to the birthday child and his/her lucky guests who got to enjoy the full menu and the comfortable sofas near the fireplace).

The menu was true to its emphasis on "klein aber fein" (small but nice). The appetisers sounded and were very appetising and it would be simply unchivalrous to the goose not to mention that its fried foie gras was divine. The main menu was, as noted already, somewhat limited in choice. That said, the Wiener Schnitzel was easily the size of Luxembourg, the Spätzle not too bad given that Berlin is a few latitudes north of the Weißwurst-equator and the pizza menu appealed to a number of us.

The wine list could do with some extra padding. What's on offer is good but this is not a place where you could spend hours agonizing over the choice. The relatively small number of options on the wine list simply do not offer up that much opportunity to kill time, even to the alphabetically/alcoholically-challenged. Still, killing time was scarcely a consideration given the number of topics we managed to canter through on Saturday evening. Sage is thus ideal for those who prefer to concentrate on conversation not the menu!

In short: the venue is "Augenschmaus pur", from the intriging wine glass puzzle cabinets at the entrance, through the graffito and left-behind warehouse lifting gear, to the jamón ibérico signalling the way to the tapas and the partially open kitchen. Even the lavatories are worth a visit to see Richard Roger's inside-out principle applied to the plumbing in the very smallest room and, for those tempted to linger, the smallest room also offers the opportunity to mull over the piped in book extracts.

We arrived as a group of 15 people, tables were ready and the waitress was very friendly and attentive (therefore 5 stars for the service). I had a Caesar salad, asparagus dish and a rump steak. The portions were pretty big and the quality of each dish was just O.K. The food quality was not bad, but neither was it extraordinary (therefore 3 stars for the value for money). Overall experience 4 stars.

The food is pretty good. Not great. My salad, for example, was a bit sandy.
      Very good pizza though.
The problem is the service! Wow.
I've been here three times over the past three years and every time we go, there is attitude to deal with. WHY? How does that help you do your job?
This time, the waitress messed up our order (which my German friend ordered IN GERMAN) and told us it must have been our fault. No apology. Seriously?
When half of our party was served... and the rest of us were left waiting for over 10 minutes , we asked the waitress if it would be much longer. She ROLLED HER EYES (!!!!) and told us it would take the "normal amount of time". WHAT?
The beach bar is super cool --- and the staff over there is friendly enough.
I will never, however, return to the restaurant. I just don't understand how people get away with treating paying customers with such contempt.

Wrong side of the river for sun on the beach in the late afternoon. The health department should close this place immediately. The beach is not that exciting. The view is the worst I have seen on Spree Beach self service bar had bottled beers and a few simple long drinks. Prices steep. The bathroom will go down as the most vile bathroom I have lived to see.....walked right out, so I can't say I "experienced" it. Friday night 7pm, and no one has been in that facility to clean, service, wipe down.....for weeks. No excuse that it is an "open air" environment. It's a public place serving paying customers. There is no food at the beach bar, we left at 11pm and the larger portion of the outdoor bar was yet to open

Really cool and beautiful restaurant. Interiors and outside area is a joy to look at. Staff was friendly and spoke good English. Food however was not impressive at all. Expensive (compared to most Berlin restaurants) and very tasteless. I ordered the fish which was an over cooked piece of - what seemed like frozen - fillet. No taste really. Came in a a clear soup a like sauce with carrots. Very disappointing.
The bread however was nice and so was the warm goat cheese starter.
My friend ordered a vegetarian pasta, which came with CHORIZO (sausage)??
Cool place but bad expensive food.

      Much ado about (almost) nothing.
We live close by and had tried to eat here several times but unfortunately it was always full. We ended up making a reservation to ensure us a table for a special occasion.
The day we arrived, it turns out they had noted down the wrong details and had made our booking for 3 hours later. We had to wait a bit at the bar but we then received a table. OK... Those things happen.
The location is indeed cool and worth a visit but the food was mediocre, the options quite reduced and the prices rather high.
I would only recommend this as a one-time thing.
      Check out the toilets ;)
