Schönborn

Towards to end of the Christmas market. If you come during that time. And if you do come during that time you need to understand how busy they are. It is sit yourself. It's packed. But we were able to snag a table of someone leaving as we came in. They also have an upstairs and if you're lucky, you'll be able to get a table near the window where you can people watch. We weren't that lucky.
We had sauer braten with potato dumpling and red cabbage. It was wonderful and more than enough. The gravy is amazing. You need to go ahead and order a bread to lap up that goodness with. The meat (I believe to be a flank steak) is so tender you can cut it with a fork.

Our waitress was supper sweet, patient, friendly and bilingual. But she was so busy. If you thought of something else you wanted, you may not get that opportunity. But I can't fault her.

Cafe Schönborn is OK for when you have been walking about Würzburg and you need to stop for a drink and a snack (or if it is raining and you need to shelter someplace until the rain stops). But in my opinion, the place is too crowded, too noisy, and everything is overpriced. I get the feeling it's more of a tourist-type place, rather than a place for Würzburgers to habitually hang out.

If anybody suggests a meeting in the Cafe Schönborn to me, I try to steer them someplace else. The place is OK but I prefer somewhere with better prices and less noise. Maybe that's just me.

Great for salads, light meal and drinks. Centrally located across the Marienburg Chapel. When you've just had too much to eat during your Germany travels, this place is great for a light meal, although you can have a big dinner too!
