I managed to get a relatively cheap 2-night B&B stay at this hotel so decided to give it a try.


The hotel is in a nice quiet location. In general the building seems well maintained, but some of the public areas were being patched and re-painted whilst I was there. My room was spacious and comfortable with free DVD movie rental which is a nice touch.


The cooked breakfast was better than most, although 3 staff members were chatting loudly by the entrance which is unacceptable at the level they are trying to pitch, although the rest of the time they were generally very good.


Bar snacks are good, but the food and drinks are relatively expensive: expect dinner in the restaurant to cost £30+ per head.


Overall though I'd return: especially if I wanted a quiet nice weekend away with a friend. It is a lovely quiet, calm rural location.

When you are in Wales ...there is nothing to do but enjoy the beautiful scenery...take that away due to nasty weather, and you will struggle to find ways to entertain yourself.

Luckily I heard of this place. Situated near Llandberis and down a long windy 5 mph road is this gorgeous farm house. Strangely enough their website is poor..yes we know it's a place to stay..but did you know that anyone can pay £8 to use the sauna and pool? Or even better £19.95 to use the pool, sauna AND enjoy a two course meal after?

So we arrived around 11am while the kids were off school and was greeted by the lovely receptionist who id spoken to via the phone previously. After checking in, we were provided towels and directions how to reach the pool.

The changing rooms were TINY..one small cubicle, a sink and a fold down baby chance unit..stalk like I had to balance on one leg to undress while trying to remove my knickers..without dropping my clothes on the sodden floor!!

Annoyance cast aside we went to the sauna while the pool quietened down . Both sauna and pool were not the largest but did the job.

After RE dressing we walked into the restaurant where we were informed it was busy. Graciously a waiter led us to a quiet conservatory where we could eat privately.

The menu consisted of veggie risottos, steaks, seafood and other posh pub grub. We all chose the eggs Benedict with smoked haddock for starters, for mains I had the seafood tagliatelle , while my mom and sis chose the fish and chips.

The starter arrived promptly, well seasoned cooked and perfect presentation...but we were left for awhile afterwards , no one checked about our situation or our meal..

Mains arrived in good proportion, however mine was very weighed down with mayonnaise like sauce..the girls enjoyed their hand cooked chips and lightly battered fish .


Overall for £20 each for a swim, sauna, and two course meal I find this ideal. But why not advertise this on their website?? Also they need to increase their changing room size..and slightly modernise it all.

This is the most peaceful place I have ever stayed my (new) husband and I stumbled across it as a bargain last minute get away about 3 years ago and returned again and again whenever we had a special occasion or just wanted a long weekend to relax, any excuse really.


The restaurant is fantastic, the food is out of this world, and where better to go after dinner but to the book lined bar / lounge to relax even more.


The rooms are all beautiful and very very spacious with lovely furnishings and all have either a balcony or french doors opening to a patio which I love! I like to be able to open the windows in hotels.


We loved the place so much from our numerous stays it was the first place we thought of when planning our wedding. We wanted to share this treasure with all our friends and family.


The staff arranged the perfect day that we wanted without us ever having to go to visit them it was all arranged via email/telephone which was a great help at a very busy time and we had the exact menu that we wanted with all our guests able to choose what they wanted to eat.


We stayed in the honeyroom suite which words cannot expect how it took my breath away when I walked into it. Sufice to say that room has 2 balcony's with stunning views of the beautiful Welsh countryside. If you want peace quiet and beauty with good food and friendly unobtrusive staff this is the place to go.. We love it and will be back
