This is another one of my guilty pleasures. Since finding religion and exercise (okay the first part may be a fib), I've found myself pining over sports goods. So Sports Direct is a must. Why so I hear you cry?
Well it is cheap as chips. It probably is actually the same price as a fish supper on some of the products it sells. They are constantly having special promotions and offers and it really doesn't have to break the bank to keep up with the gym Jones'. You'll find loads of sport brands on sale, from Puma to Nike. You'll also find more "fashion" related sports stuff but I tend to avoid that like the plague.
If you want equipment then it's a goer too. Footballs are dirt cheap, cricket gear is in-depth and as for running well run free like Forrest Gump. The trainers and boots are also highly affordable and it really never has been so easy to kit your child out in gear without breaking your wallet into a thousand pieces. I won't lie, it isn't to everyone's tastes but it suits me just fine.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (pinkys…)Leeds, Vereinigtes Königreich5068451426. Okt. 2008
I came here to get some Converse Hi-Tops and was so excited that I didn't mind that all the people in here smelled of B.O.
I was particularly excited when I saw on the little label on the shelf that my trainers were reduced from £34.99 to £27.99. Woop! Then when I got my box and everything, the label on it said they were £24.49 instead! Woop woop!
Except the till lady didn't spot that and scanned it and asked me for £27.99 and I had to point out the box label and then a supervisor came over and pressed some buttons and hey presto I got my cons for under £25 woop woop woop!
The shop is poorly laid out, the staff are all a bit young and a bit vacant, and there is a lingering smell of sweat, but hooray I got my cons and I never need go back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (deano3…)Halifax, Vereinigtes Königreich25623. Nov. 2008
A fantastic store for discounted sportswear/trainers, recent sales include England shirts for £4.49 for adults and £3.49 for children.
All of their stores seem to have the same layout, trainers displayed on the side wall with rails and rails of clothes througout their store.
It is very difficult to move in these stores never mind trying to do this with a toddler or pushchair. The staff seemed very rushed and I had to ask 3 different members of staff for a trainer in a particular size, the first one returned 20 minutes later to say couldn't find any!
Definitely a store full of bargains worth a visit if you've got a good hour or so and dont mind being squashed but better advice is to visit their store online and pay delivery!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
