In other cities, you have Lake View or Beach View in Wakefield, you have Stanley View!My encounter with this hotel got off to a rocky start when the taxi driver dropped us off at the wrong building at the other end of the street. However, when I rang the hotel owner to ask for directions, she was really friendly and even stood outside to make sure we found it. The hotel itself was very homely - in fact, almost like someone's house, and I instantly felt at home. Our room was right at the top of the building and we were surprised to discovered that we'd actually been given a suite - not just the bedroom and bathroom, but also 3 other bedrooms, containing a total of 9 beds! It was very bizarre, but the rooms were all clean and comfortable and I would certainly recommend it. It was also good value - £45 for bed and breakfast for two.

Have not had great experiences with accommodation in Wakefield before and started dreading having to travel Wakefield. Saw Stanley View listed this time and found it a huge improvement. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. A small complaint would be no ordinary soap or shampoo in the shower (there is hand soap at least).
