Leonardo Royal Hotel Mannheim

Room was nice and clean. The customer service was the best we've seen in a very long time! Fanatic place! Highly recommend!!

Spent a few nights early part of January 2019 at this hotel in Mannheim, Germany. My biggest problem was that housekeeping left my door wide open on not just one, but two occasions. Each time I immediately complained to the front desk. Although they were quick to apologize, they obviously took no action, because it happened again the next day. I'm sorry, but there are no excuses for something like this. At least nothing was stolen.

The location of the hotel is great. It is a beautiful historical building, but Leonardo is not able to keep with needed renovations Everywhere there are bulbs burnt out and clocks that stopped working. The elevators are from the 60's I would guess.

The only redeeming thing about my stay was the breakfast buffet. A huge spread of just everything imaginable. But the wait staff looks depressed and put out. They rarely even offered a mug of coffee.

The front desk staff acts similarly. They don't greet or even make eye contact with the guests. Just have their heads buried in their computer screens.

Considering that their WebSite commanded 235 euros per night for the room I booked, the place is definitely not worth the price.
