They are cute, cuddly, dressed in attire, and they move. Teddy Bear World Hawaii is the first of its kind in the USA. For the Kamaaina rate of $8, I thought it was worth the price. General admission is $15. Juniors (4-17) and Seniors cost $11. Children under 4 are free.
The first floor is actually the store where you can purchase teddy bears. To get into the museum you have to go up the escalator. When you are ascending up the escalator and you turn around. There is a world map. There are teddy bears dressed in that countries attire.
My family enjoyed our visit to Teddy Bear World. My family spent over an hour looking around. Remember to bring your camera because there are a lot of photo opportunities. A staff member was nice enough to take a family picture of us in front of the Hawaii bears at the beginning of the self guided tour.
There are 5 different exhibits, at the end you are entertained by a tribute to Elvis teddy bear. The first exhibit, 8 wonders of America, you follow the journey of a teddy bear motorcyclist. He is depicted in every showcase so keep an eye out for this teddy bear. My seven year old son had fun hunting for that teddy bear.
My sons favorite exhibit was the dinosaur exhibit. The dinosaurs moved as well and my family enjoyed reading the information posted on the walls. My favorite exhibit was the save the planet exhibit. They had different type of bears. They had polar bears, pandas, and grizzly bears show cased. It also had information about how they are endangered.
My husband liked the teddy bear museum exhibit. At this exhibit it had information about the history of the teddy bear. It also had some antique teddy bears from around the world. I thought that the Hawaii in Hawaii teddy bear exhibit was really cute. It had teddy bears swimming under water.
The staff was really nice. My family had fun and the museum had a good amount of educational information. I'm sure people of every age will find something to like about this exhibit.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 18211159847826. Mai 2012
I'm giving Teddy Bear World 5 STARS because I'm a kid at heart. This place is definitely not for everyone, but if you're like me..... then you'll love it!
Admission is $13/adult. There are also coupons and check-in offers available.
Your admission is good for 24 hours so you can always come back the next day and my coupon gave me 10% off any of their merchandise.
I thought all of their displays were SUPER detailed. If you don't care about this stuff, then you can walk in and out of here in 10 minutes. But for others, you can look at each display for 10 minutes! LOL.
I also liked looking at the display of Teddy Bears throughout history and it was very nostalgic to remember all of those bears in MY own life! hahha.. (Paddington, Forever Friends, Care Bears, Mr. Bean's Teddy)
At the end is a display you can sit in where you're surrounded by all the leaders of the world in bear-form and also can watch an Elvis show.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 9463551160821. Juli 2011
We stumbled across this store while walking down Kalakaua and given that my daughter loves teddy bears, this place was a must go! General admission is $15. Children under 4 are free. The bottom of the shop is a gift shop and there is an gated escalator that will take you to the top of teddy bear world. The bears are showcased in settings like Jurastic Park, Hawaii, San Francisco, NY, etc. They also have a little concert area where Elvis bear performs a special concert singing Blue Hawaii, etc...lol The staff that it would take 45 min to an hour to get through the showcase. You can walk through it twice in 30 minutes.
They are located right on Kalakaua right next to Hard Rock Cafe.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2601352106119. Sept. 2013
Do you know how you get your husband to go into Teddy Bear World? You make him shop in the sweltering heat all morning down the Waikiki beach walk and then put out there that we could go hang out in nice air conditioning for an hour! Oh, and when you check in on yelp you get a $2 off admissions coupon - just fyi!
We popped into the store and then bought tickets to go see the museum. OK, it is basically several scenes (like a natural history museum) with teddy bears dressed up acting out whatever they are depicting (Broadway, Hollywood, Titanic...). Most of the scenes are animatronics so they are doing some action sequence. It is cheesy, make no mistake about it, but if you give over to the fun of the place it is actually a really good time. They take real time and effort to get all kinds of details into the scenes. Their big finish is with the king himself (Elvis Bear), giving a farewell performance. You just have to see it! It is good fun. Take a break from the heat, get some funny pictures with the bears and enjoy!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Will L.Honolulu, Vereinigte Staaten30033236026. Sept. 2011
This is an unknown gem in the middle of Waikiki that is a must-do if you have keiki and must-do if you don't have keiki.
My kids are 7 and 5 and are somewhat tired of Discovery Center (so am I!) so this was a great alternative to something in that genre. They absolutely loved it. I would compare this place as a mix between M&M World and It's a Small World (without the boat of course). There was just exhibit after exhibit of interesting teddy bear scenery and so it didn't feel like you were ripped off. There's a kama`aina adult rate of $8 (otherwise $15). It's $6 for kids.
After multiple exhibits of cities, environments, themes and historical eras (my favorite was the WWII scene as well as the art gallery), there is the Elvis show in a small theater and that was an entertaining 10 minutes to end the tour of the place. We went through all of this rather quickly and that still took about an hour. You can spend much more time in there.
One of the store staff members told me that this is big in Korea and out there it's bigger and more like an amusement park, with rides and such. My only concern is the lack of patronage here as we pretty much had the run of the place to ourselves on a Saturday night. Can you imagine M&M World in Vegas or NYC being empty? So with the high overhead of Waikiki (it's located in between the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and Bankoh, on Kalakaua), I don't know how this place is going to survive. So PLEASE check this place out and keep it in business!
As for parking, we parked at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center parking lot and after we went to Teddy Bear World, we ate at the shopping center food court, where they validate your ticket. I wound up paying $1 for parking, which is a deal in Waikiki. This is a fun place for keiki, parents and even grownups who are keiki at heart.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - 22. Juni 2013
When Teddy Bears take over the world...Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! Soooo cute! Hehehe, it's totally a girls thing. I bought a groupon for 2, and made my friend come here with me. He said it was really embarrassing going to a teddy bear museum. Well, he said he would come with me, so too bad.
The worker there told us we could get a postcard after a scavenger hunt. So we might as well do it. There were different galleries from dinosaur world, America landmarks, ocean creatures, to mr. psy's gangnam style pose. How amazing is that?! There were almost 1000 of bears dressed up in fancy clothing and poses. The museum isn't big nor is it small. There were definitely a lot of interesting stuff to see and learn.
One time is all I need to explore this place. I don't think it's worth it to go for the original price ($11). I think they have kamaaina rate. So glad I had the groupon.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 27244383824. Sept. 2012
Ok, don't judge me, but Teddy Bear World was one of the highlights of my Hawaii trip.
A lover of Teddy Bears or just bears in general, this place has a bunch of Teddy Bears including Hawaii's beloved "Bear"ack Obama. Yup, that's right. "Bear"ack Obama.
I actually found this place by accident perusing Yelp to look at check-in offers. Low and behold, Teddy Bear World has $2.00 off their admission to the Teddy Bear Museum and 10% off merchandise. Teddy Bear Museum???? I HAVE TO GO.
The Teddy Bear Museum, laugh if you will, contains a bunch of very detailed Teddy Bear exhibits. You can see animatronic teddy Bears on Rodeo Drive, in San Francisco, New York City, playing sports, chillin, with dinosaurs, polar bears, panda bears, wild brown bears, bears hunting bears, bears on the Titanic, under the sea bears, bears in artsy paintings (Mona Lisa, Scream, Last Kiss to name a few), and best of all: you can take a picture with a council of bears and watch a live Elvis Bear show! Yup. It's frickin priceless.
They also have historic tid bits about bears, as well as bears in history, (Paddington, Fozzy, etc.).
Your admission is actually good for 24 hours! The staff is really friendly too. It was a little past closing and she let us watch the Elvis Bear show!
If you've got some time to kill and are obsesses with bears as much as I, go down to Teddy Bear World! You'll definitely enjoy it!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lisa K.Honolulu, Vereinigte Staaten1611621773. Feb. 2011
I'd been watching Teddy Bear World construction for the duration of the project and was admittedly quite curious about what a teddy bear museum looks like or how they could possibly charge an admission for it.
The price for bears on floor 1 is quite steep and the selection isn't that creative or special, so my expectations were tempered.
Turns out that was a good thing, as the Museum (which requires an entry fee - ask for the kamaaina discount) is MUCH larger than I anticipated, and much more exciting than I'd imagined.
Quite honestly, I didn't know how looking at teddy bears could be all that fun, but they had surprisingly complex exhibits, with lots of attention to detail. I took my almost-4 year old and we both loved it, though she was a little scared of the animatronic dinosaur exhibit. Cute, clever and appropriate for all ages.
Highly recommended for kids and families, especially if you need to find something to do indoors. You could easily spend 30-60 minutes looking around.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Olive P.Anaheim, Vereinigte Staaten23810816. Juli 2013
There is something bizarrely and amazingly awesome about this quirky place. If you haven't seen teddy bears in historic, artistic, Jurassic, or other situations, you've been missing out.
We came here at 8 on a Monday night, and it was pretty empty, so we got to experience this mostly on our own.
Teddy Bear World needs to hire somebody to work on signage. If this is a "museum," it should not have long signs with Wikipedia as the source. I kept thinking of how I'd improve the signs and blurbs. It became distracting.
I think there is potential here, TBW. You are odd, unique, and weirdly historic.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Malia W.Mesa, Vereinigte Staaten1243453709. Jan. 2012
Came by to buy my goddaughter a present. Most teddy bears were about 20-30 bucks. We ended up getting her a little purse and a hair scrunchy which added up to under $14.00. They had an Obama bear and an Elvis bear which I though was pretty cleaver.
They had a museum upstairs but was $15 a person! I didn't go up since I was with two guys. Thought $15.00 was pretty steep for whatever was up there. Not sure if I would pay even if I was with child.
No gift wrapping, but my goddaughter loved her gift anyway.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Infos zum Inhaber

Aloha Malia,
I am sorry that you did not have a great experience visiting Teddy Bear World. The reason our Adult admission is $15 is because the museum itself was a $7 million investment. Our museum is located upstairs and is the entire second floor at 20,000 ft. sq. We have 800 bears up there, which are animatronic, which allows them to move and dance. Each bear is hand made in Korea and shipped here to Hawaii and reassembled. These bears are called Mohair and are made of real goat hair, this allows us to make each unique. Each has a different color, texture and facial expression. It is an amazing attraction for people of all ages, couples and families as we have 5 different attractions such as our 8 Wonders of America, Dinosaur Park, Save the Planet, our History Museum and Hawaii in Hawaii Exhibit. We also have many photo opportunities and our finale is an Elvis show in our very own theater. Just FYI we do also offer Kamaaina, military, family and group rates. Please feel free to come by again and we will be more than happy to give you a free preview of our museum.
Mahalo nui,
Mary Lindsey
