The Best Nest

This place was very unique and set way away from the town. The drive up the winding roads is the only reason we won't stay there again.

It was well taken care of and had a lot of cute little amenities. Krueg for the coffee, plenty of free snacks and stuff. Amie even baked us some cinnamon rolls on our first day there.

The price was good and there are a lot of nice things about it, but out of the way.

We didn't know what to expect, as this was our first BnB outing. And we've all heard the good and bad over such. Well, this one was most excellent.

The owner is very down to earth and friendly. She has a lot of her art and personal touches around the place, both in the guest house and around the yard.

I think the best thing about this place is how quiet and peaceful the location is. If you're trying to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this will no doubt sate that. I heard maybe one or two cars, at most, during our stay.

And the view? Amazing in all directions!

The amenities themselves are beyond anything we expected. Keurig? Check! Board Games? Yup, those too. DVDs/movies? Yup! Miscellaneous books?! Covered!

Food wise, there's a lot to work with in the room. Almost something for everyone. And there's a few places that do delivery to the location (one was Chinese and the other a pizza place). Wine, beer, snacks, cereal, etc. Amie was nice and gave us a few hard boiled eggs from her chickens on the property. Don't think you can get more organic than that. She also baked us some Pumpkin Pecan Raisin Cinnamon rolls as well.

We couldn't have asked for a better first impression and experience. This is definitely above and beyond anything we expected. On a final note, to help address the concerns in the negative reviews posted here, our host kept in touch with us, via email, the entire time up to our visit.

Great experience at a low price. Can't even begin to compare the level of hospitality offered here. Amie puts a great nest together for travelers. Thanks!

This is a hidden gem. Amie's place is a cozy, comfy, home-alike place where you can rest and feel cuddled. Wonderful landscape, a fridge loaded with fresh food, dozens of solar small lights and lamps welcoming when you come back in the evening, silence during the night and the birds singing in the morning... What else? Thank you so much, Amie! You rock!

Even though it was a little out of the way, it was worth the extra effort. We even had a friendly cat spend some time with us. But it all comes down to one question, would we stay here again? definitely!!

We were looking forward to spending a quiet and relazing few days in the Paso Robles area, wine tasting and antique shopping. this was a perfect base to explore the area. It was quiet, peaceful, relaxing, comfortable and the small kitchen allowed us to eat most of our meals there so it not only saved money but added to the relaxation. it wsa a great value and perfect for the two of us.

Based on all the great reviews and pictures at other websites, my husband and I were really looking forward to staying here on a mini weekend vacation to SLO. We made the 4 hour trek from Long Beach to the Central Coast only to be cancelled AFTER the check in time via e-mail. We were already up the windy road miles from the freeway towards the place when we got the news! We booked through Priceline, and they said that they weren't informed by the owners of the over-booking until after the check-in time as well. We tried to make the most of this unfortunate situation, but it really ruined the whole weekend for us since we had to book a random hotel last minute. Beware, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNRELIABLE!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We went up to Atascadero for a family visit and needed to find a place to stay. I found this guesthouse and fell in love. My husband was a little indifferent at first because he is used to staying at chain hotels...but after going into the house he too fell in love! Amie, thought of everything in this house to make her guests comfortable. All I actually needed was clothes because everything was provided! Toiletries, hair dryer, coffee, snacks, cinnamon rolls, towels, family games, dvds, extra bedding...and the most comfortable soft bed I have ever slept on! I just wanted to live there! Also, this place was affordable! Why would anyone want to stay at a cheap uncomfortable hotel when you can stay here! We will definitely be back every time we visit my aunts -and in fact we may even visit more often just to stay at the Best Nest! Thank you so much Amie for providing such a beautiful house for us travelers looking for a peaceful place to sleep!
