Tim Hortons

Bad. Never open when they say they are. Let's you order in their app when they aren't open. Hours suck. Plus the few times I have been there the staff was very rude and impolite. Get better people.

Update--see pictures. This is at 2:30pm on a Wednesday, 11/4/20. Looks like they've been closed since early summer. Ads in window are promoting frozen coffee & fruit drinks.

First, I LOOOVE Tim Hortons and was so excited that one was literally under our hotel. We had to leave really early, but lo and behold both Google and Yelp listed the hours as opening at 6 am on weekdays. Well guess what, not open until 8 by which point I need to be at least an hour away. I understand staffing issues, but PLEASE, update your hours regularly so your die hard fans don't waste their time.

We drove out of our way on a late Saturday morning since it said they were open in Yelp. They were not. Very disappointing. We understand staffing issues but then keep up to date on a daily basis regarding whether or not you're open.

No entrance without ticket during hockey games! That's what I get for just checking google and yelp.

So we literally decided to make a day out of coming up from DC to find the nearest full-service Tim Hortons because we love it. After driving around seeing sights in Harrisburg and Hershey we finally made it to downtown Allentown JUST for this. Lots of very shady people hanging around the desolate streets and also street parking was pretty difficult.

And there was a hockey game going on for the local minor league Lehigh Valley Phantoms team. The Tim Hortons looks like it's separate from the arena, but unfortunately the doors are locked during games. I get it because the dining room has a direct entrance to the game, but it seems like this should be better advertised, and also seems like it could be done differently.

I seriously, SERIOUSLY considered buying two tickets for the game just to get in. But ultimately couldn't bring myself to do it. That's an expensive cup of coffee. So, ended up driving all the way back to Harrisburg and on to Duncannon to get Tim Hortons at a lousy gas station (seriously, it was just premade self-serve carafes) but it was surprisingly good, so my mission was not an entire failure. Next time I may use Tim Hortons as an excuse to see scenic West Virginia instead (Morgantown)!

THE WORST STAFF EVER!!!

So I'm at the Cedar Crest College for graduation - and went to go get a cup of coffee to sip on .

1) First off - STORE FRONT in PPL is atrocious ! Granted there are people here but there are wrappers / straws / trash littering the floor and corners . Chairs and tables are askew and not pushed in and or in the walk way .

2) they have signs posted as to " where the line starts " which is slightly confusing because they're small signs and if you don't see them ( most people are walking with heads in phones these days ) you'll miss the line - then forming a "this is where I'm standing - so this is a line " clog with other customers are milling in looking for " the line" .

3) The Staff then will realize there is a backup and clog of humans in the WRONG line - then proceed to YELL at you and point and wave arms wildly as to where the "real line starts" . THERE IS NO ORGANIZATION .

4) Staff is all flustered , too many cooks in the kitchen , no one is listening to each other and to be honest it's like watching a chicken fight because all the do is squawk at each other - no one knows what order is next / numbers jumping from 180 to 250 - customers don't know where to wait for items - CAUSING ANOTHER LINE WHICH NEW CUSTOMERS GET BEHIND !!!

5) coffee tastes like shit ... after all of that

This place truly is great. The service was impeccable, the food was fresh, and the people couldn't be nicer. I am shocked I haven't been here before today. I was astounded by how great this store was. 15/10. This will be my new coffee place to go before work.

I was so excited about going to Timmys and was subjected to probably the worst customer service and not only that, the inability to do two things. One, they could not count to 10. I was given five Tim bits instead of 10. Second, making change was a complete struggle.

They have been open for a month now so you would think they got it together...not so much. The donuts are good but the cream in the Boston creme is better at Dunkin'. There was no event at PPL today but they had 4 employees who confused each other and let the napkin dispenser run empty. They best part was watching them try to put paper towels in it. Oh geez. The prices are reasonable but the service is just ok. The MeLVin donut was super cool. Nice place for coffee and a snack in town.

Today was my first visit to Tim Horton's. It was very worthwhile going out of our way during a snowstorm just for the coffee and a bagel belt (bacon, egg, lettuce, and tomato). Probably the best coffee I've ever had and the bagel belt was superb.

This is a place worth visiting if you're in the area.
