Vapiano

YUMMMMM!! I tried three different dishes, had a taste of my husbands and my moms. We all got something different and I was pleased with each dish!

It's a little bit chaotic once you walk inside, so don't have a party member go find seats for your party. Just order your food THEN go find a place to sit. The food takes a little long to prepare, but hey it's made right in front of you, so cannot complain.

Your order goes on a card and once you're done eating you go to the cashiers desk and pay. We are definitely going to be keeping an eye out for this place whenever we go out to explore!

It has a very interesting way of doing things. You get a card then go to where you want to order. Tell them what you want and they add it to the card. After you are done eating you give the card to the cashier and he rings it up. The food was delicious. I got a margarita pizza and it was fantastic. I have pictures of the food others ate that were with me as well.

The quality of the food is good and fresh. The cooking is pretty consistent and the menu has quite extensive to please the most finicky eaters. Vapiano also offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcohol beverages.

The restaurant offers their guests outside sitting, main floor (Erdgeschoss) and 2nd floor sitting (Obergeschoss).

My only reason for knocking them one star is the cafeteria style service with different stations for pasta, pizza and salads. God forbid you decide to get pasta & salad, two lines! Your pasta or pizza is bound to get cold unless you order the salad first. If you go with a group you will not all get your food at the same time. If you come during busy peak hours it is hard to get a seat as well long lines to order.

I ate here a couple of times. Most recently in July with a friend visiting me from the US. We couldn't find seating outside but snagged a seat by the open windows.

We ordered our food (pizza and some wine) and sat down. It didn't take very long for the buzzers to go off, alerting us to get our food at the counter.

I know many don't like Vapiano because it isn't "freshly prepared" but I feel it's "fresh enough" and made to order so it definitely works when you are looking for a low-key but tasty meal with good conversation. My friend is of Italian heritage and lived a long time in NJ and NY so she's familiar with good pizza - and she quite enjoyed the pizza and we both finished every bite of our pizzas.

I would absolutely come here for a first date or to casually meet up with friends. One star down because it's just a chain after all ;)

I need to update my review. Last night, amazing food. Tonight same dish different ingredients and way too much salt.

The dishes are inconsistent since the ingredients are not measured. And they used different ingredients like 4 of the major ones that change the taste of the dish


Disgusting 2nd time around.

Stay away if hungry or looking for good Italian! One star is probably too much for this ridiculously well below-average Italian, wannabe-chic dining experience. Not sure what the "no server" model is trying to achieve here other than slowing the kitchen staff down with taking orders and possibly trying to save the owners a few cents. If crowded, be prepared to stand in line for upwards of 45 minutes per food category line (multiple lines for pasta vs pizza vs salad) just to order. If in a group, better to order from the same line or your food may come out upwards of 20 minutes apart. Nein danke!

This is a chain I've visited a few times in the US. I stopped in because I was starving and it was familiar. I'm giving this two stars because the wait was nearly 1/2 hour at lunch time, the pasta was under cooked and I waited five minutes before the the hostess provide the card. I'm giving this two stars because our chef showed up and got the line moving. If you're hungry from the States and want familiar food there's a Chilis nearby.

They serve their pasta al-dente. The atmosphere is great and lots of fun, but the food isn't the best. If you're looking for a great pasta meal, look elsewhere. Vapiano is styled as a cafeteria where you order at the counter, and they keep track of what you buy on a card. When you're done, leave your plates at the table and walk up to cashier at the entrance to pay.

I liked this restaurant because it had lots of fresh soup, salad, pizza and pasta options. They also serve alcohol. The soup I had was a 10 and the wine was a very generous pour. The only thing you need to plan for is the lines if you are in a group. It's unlikely you can all get your food at the same time. But I'd go back in a minute to try more pasta and pizza options!

This restaurant is fantastic! My husband, myself, and another couple went last night (Saturday) around 1930 and it was very busy, but we are able to find a table upstairs. I ended up ordering the meat filled ravioli and my husband ordered the shrimp scampi. Between the four of us and quite a few hefeweizens, our total only ended up being €59. Amazing food, interesting setup, and great atmosphere. I wish we could be here again in the summer so we could eat outside!
