Volkspark Friedrichshain

Love this park for
morning running and afternoon walks. It s near my apartment and it's very large and beaitiful.

Awesome park with large green spaces to use as you wish, whether it be BBQ or to relax at a restaurant/bar. Great for summer days with a beer on the grass.

VP Friedrichshain is really beautiful and has pretty much anything ever that a park can contain. There are volleyball courts, tennis courts, lots of green grass, a soccer field, multiple playgrounds, an open air theater, a biergarten, a thing that i think is a skate park, a large fountain, a hospital....the list goes on and on. I have also been running there a few times and they have a couple of really great paths with some calisthenic equipment (pull up bars, sit-up benches) at various points. It is really east to access by public transportation. I just wish they had more bathrooms (that poor gas station near danziger strasse must be so annoyed from everyone using their restroom) and that there was better garbage control (or maybe just less people littering) in the summer time.

** Little running/exercise tip: I love to use the paths here for a little jog, then head to the nearby Velodrom to run the stairs there!

Part of me doesn't want to disclose to the world that this is one of the most delightful parks in Berlin. It is so delightful, it can get very busy on a weekend. But then what kind of Volkspark experience do you want? Do you want to join everyone for an impromptu grill, lounging and watching kids cool off in the Elephant splash pad? Or would you rather something quieter. This park has both, you just need to pick when you visit. Weekdays= calm, weekends and holidays= join in the fun.

I love this place! Beautiful walking paths, lovely old trees, and several roaring fountains make this a delightful place to spend an afternoon. There's a biergarten here and also an outdoor kino, both of which I hope to check out soon.

The park is quite large so it would make a great place either for a leisurely stroll or to get in a nice run. It is well-populated but still doesn't feel crowded.

There are benches near the fountains and also at various points along the paths in case you need (or simply desire) to have a seat.

There's also a very nice playground with slides and so-on for children to play on.

Great location for a walk or a healthy jog, even in the winter
