Queenstown, you are already beautiful. So are you going to keep up the taunting and offer exceptional cafes too?
Because Vudu Cafe, that is what you are. Yumlicious.
FOOD - For me, the food on display was more appealing than their menu. Once I saw the chicken and veg pie topped with parmesan and mashed pumpkin I absolutely knew I had to have it. Way to go natural instinct, because that pie was absolutely divine!
Price wise, it's standard. Food on display averages $8-10 and the dishes on their menu average $8-18.
AMBIANCE - Loved it. Small and quaint, perfect for a little cafe nestled in the outdoors. Feels more like a place for locals to frequent (although how would I know, right)... than by a stream of backpackers (think Fergburger). Magazines and newspapers are present for your leisure. This is a place where you can easily come by yourself to sit, eat, and relax.
If I ever find myself in Queenstown again, I will surely be back. Can't wait!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex F.Sydney, Australien617211416. Dez. 2015
Great little spot!
Delicious food possibly my favourite breakfast spot in QT!
Ordered the pancakes and wow the presentation was so amazing who knew breakfast could look so good!
My partner had the eggs Benedict and they looked yum also.
Busy place and the prices are standard for QT, saying that we didn't wait long at all for our order.
Would love to come backHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Leo G.Adelaide, Australien10334114. Dez. 2015
Worth all the five star reviews ! Decent coffee is not all that easy to come by driving across south island. This one is worth the drive.
Food was very nice (highly recommend the pulled lamb) and staff prompt & friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex D.Auckland, Neuseeland878602286518. Juli 2013
Without fail, everytime I am in QT I have at least one meal at Vudu. It just consistently good plus it has some of the best looking and tasting cabinet food out.
On my most recent visit, Mum and I sat outside under the heaters with the dogs. Although, I normally I go for something off their breakfast menu (their eggs are brilliant) this time I ventured out and went for the lentil burger. EPIC. Huge, flavoursome lentil pattie, v.thinly sliced zucchini, smokey relish and fresh garden lettuce. Totally into it.
Definitely recommend this spot for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon sweet treat!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Anu M.San Jose, Vereinigte Staaten49095514106. Dez. 2015
A lovely breakfast joint in Queenstown. Definitely a must -try.
We came in on a Sunday for brunch. The cafe itself is cute, cozy, has indoor and outdoor seating area. They have a few magazines arranged on one of the book shelves.
We ordered the following:
- Cappuccino: very good
- Mochaccino: very good
- Halloumi cheese with poached eggs, butternut squash, sundried tomatoes and spinach on toast and sprinked with almond crumble: fab fab fab
Loved the brekkie plate. All the different flavors were married so well together. Delish.
Amicable service. Cozy and comfy ambiance. You can never go wrong with your choice of food here.
Highly recommend checking this cafe out for breakfast or lunch.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Irina B.Atlanta, Vereinigte Staaten56210111. Dez. 2015
Absolutely amazing - cannot praise this place enough!
Decor and vibe are very relaxed and interesting - nice art and diverse crowd. You can make it any kind of experience, anything a rushed from a rushed quick bite, to a lengthy relaxed brunch with a newspaper.
The food was absolutely to die for. I had one of the pre-made pastries and a latte, both delicious and mouth-watering. My husband had eggs benedict - tasted great, fresh and flavourful.
Definite must-go while in town, and maybe even more than once!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Crops To Cuisine ..New York, Vereinigte Staaten371313410. Okt. 2015
The hot porridge was lovey---mildly sweet (but not too sweet) and great balance of flavors. My latte was a bit bitter, but the porridge and service was so good that I have to give Vudu 5 stars.

I have to admit somewhat ashamedly, the only reason I hit this cafe is because it was reportedly Orlando Bloom's favourite spot when he was filming Lord of the Rings.....I did alot of these kind of shenanigans while I was in N.Z.
That being said, the 2 packed venues speak volumes when it comes to the quality of food at Vudu. I am glad Mr. Bloom led me here.
I walked in and managed to get a table. I ordered the breakfast eggs and sausages, got those bad boys poached. I will say two things about New Zealand in general - 1) They know how to poach an egg and 2) Breakfast potatoes are a thing over there.
Potatoes as a breakfast food is perhaps the most genius invention to date. Those sauted mounds of goodness went down a real treat with the lovely pork sausages and egg poached to poach-fection! The coffee was also absolutely delicious.
Two small reasons why Vudu doesn't get 5 stars though - also they are quite busy, the staff could be a *little* less huffy and to be honest even though the food i great, ofr the portions you get I did find it to be a little on the expensive side.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maire F.Palmerston North, Neuseeland14999. I am so happy Vudu was recommended to me!! We had the most amazing breakfasts - wish our holiday was longer so I could have tried more of their awesome food!! Seating was ample, service was great, food was delish and arrived quickly. Beautiful range of food, both deli and on the menu. Particular favs were the arrow (?!) juice, strawberry cheesecake and the quinoa porridge that I'm yet to recreate! Will definitely be back!!

I was complaining with the locals and tourist about Queenstown not having a good cafe which know what coffee is. I was then recommended to come to vudu cafe and try the coffee and brunch menu. OMG and im glad i did.
Coffee here was really nice, lots of care taken to get a nice smooth rich coffee. I got it alongside the breakfast special. Mm it was a mushroom and poached egg with bacon. It was so nicely plated and the taste was amazing, I just indulged in this plate.
Service was really nice, staff all friendly. Its a very busy cafe, people constantly in and out, and after my visit it became clear why.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
