The Waterloo Brasserie is a truly superb modern European restaurant, really close to Waterloo station. The interior, and indeed the whole feel of the restaurant, is chic, modern and utterly divine - a real classy place to take friends or a loved one.
I recently visited this place with my boyfriend. We decided to go for this place as we were fed up always choosing Japanese whenever we eat out.
I was surprised to see The Waterloo Brasserie also do breakfast and lunch - quite intriguing. However, we were here for dinner on a Friday night and the restaurant was nicely busy, a good atmosphere.
I have to recommend the Mussels in Ten Spice Cream - oh my God - so good! The menu was really great; there was all manner of fish, meat and vegetarian options. For my main I went for the Pan Fried Cod Filet, Salsify Confit Crayfish Sauce. Wow, it was so good. A little pricey at around £15 but you pay for what you get and this was really class on a plate!
We were unfortunately too full for dessert since we'd both gone for starters but I'm intent on coming here for breakfast soon!
A gorgeous evening out, a little pricey but well worth it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (duncan…)London, Vereinigtes Königreich37291. Sept. 2008
A reasonably priced restaurant opposite Waterloo Station on the Waterloo Road, with modern, stylish decor, the Waterloo Brasserie looks like it belongs in a more salubrious neighbourhood.
Great for evening drinks (their wine list is extensive to say the least!) or business lunches (the menu is described as class, French-inspired).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (Kizzie…)London, Vereinigtes Königreich1315617. Feb. 2008
Waterloo Brasserie is modern and warm, with lots of deep red paint and dark wood tables and chairs. There was a fireplace with couches and a bar with hanging clear glass ornaments above it, and our tall table was decorated with small vases of vibrant orange and pink two-tone roses.
I had a fig and cheese tartine and some delicious blackcurrant hibiscus tea and my friend had a two-course meal with lentil soup and duck. We split the hot chocolate fondant dessert, which came with salted caramel sorbet and was warm, gooey and a delicious end to our meal. The prices were quite reasonable, too.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lauren B.Bloomfield, Vereinigte Staaten7450358. Aug. 2011
For as many times as I've passed this place I'm surprised I hadn't been here earlier.
I dined in the back where there is a quiet restaurant with modern decor. My hubby & I split a steak for two with chips, feta salad and 2 sauces - bearnaise and a red wine, I think.
I had a lovely cold cocktail and our food was served promptly and perfectly cooked. I was really surprised at how fast it came out due to the mammoth size of the meat!
Lastly, the staff were lovely. Short and sweet, I'd come back again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Haylee E.Crawford, Vereinigte Staaten2052461128. Okt. 2012
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant twice during our visit to London. The first time we went was after our flight, so we were in jeans and sweatshirts. All I can say is, Americans, even though it says casual attire, these Londoners always dress swanky! So we learned our lesson and dressed to kill the second time around.
Anyway, the food is awesome! The first time we both had burgers. I accidentally order a tofu burger (i don't know how that happened but it did), and it was probably one of the most delicious things of my life. The second time around we had some yummy filets, and we were there for happy hour which meant £5 for 2 beers! The wait staff was really nice and helpful!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christie K.Queens, Vereinigte Staaten26959419425. Dez. 2010
My company held our Christmas party there and didn't even realise it was there even though I'm always in and out of Waterloo station. I had the ham croquettes as a starter and the lamb as the main. Both were delicious but the egg nog creme brulee was disappointing. Service was a little patchy but figured it may have been difficult to accomodate such a large group. Certainly willing to try this place again.

Such potential wasted. 2-4-1 happy hour, yes please. 80% ice, 15% juice and 5% alcohol in my cocktail, no thank you.

This is a local for me from the office so we go there a lot! It's fairly sophisticated and tends to be full of those who are booted and suited. Generally good service and food is not bad either. They really need to tone down the lighting in the bar later in the evenings though.

Nice atmosphere which is good because you'll be there a long time. Service was so slow it was a joke, the staff were rude and got the bill wrong... twice.

My wife and I ate here on our Vacation to the UK a few weeks back.
A very nice restaurant compared to alternatives around the Waterloo station area.
The prices were reasonable based on the decore. However, as another reviewer stated, the meals were not as good as other reasonably priced restaurants in NYC or Boston. Perhaps this was because it was midweek.
The decor is trendy and nice, but I would not go there with kids.
During the day there is hardly a crowd. The staff was very nice. They are very accommodating to tourists who need to use the restroom as they are coming out of the station. I would eat there again just because they are reasonable about that as compared to some of the other restaurants that were very snobby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
