This place is the brewery tap for Brodies.

I've been here a bunch of times. It's a good place. The house beers are spread across cask and keg. Sometimes the selection is fantastic with 10+ Brodies beers, but sometimes they might only have a handful. They put on a festival a couple times per year, so that's a good time to go if you want a lot of scoops.

The pub itself is pretty traditional, with plenty of seating and a nice ambiance. There's a modest but sufficient food menu with an assortment of hearty, well priced options. The service here can be rather uncaring, and the bartenders usually don't know much about the beers.

This place is a bit of a trek, so probably one for the more dedicated drinkers.

Great pub, great beer, all Brodies at £1.99 a pint, from 3.2% to 11%, how bad is that....
5 mins walk from Leyton Midland overground ,15 mins from Leyton tube, bit of a schlep on the bus, 55 from town could take a while,East London well served though.

Now doing guest ales all at £1.99, including Jaipur IPA!

This pub can be a bit tricky to get to. It's not really near any stations, but the area is very well served by bus.

This is a large pub, with a dartboard and a couple of tellys. The décor is Victorian and the walls are covered with various beer memorabilia, most coming from somewhere else of course, but that doesn't make it look any less impressive.

The drinks are cheap, about 2 pounds a pint for the ales. The lagers are a little more. The reason why the ale is so reasonable? Well it is brewed just out back. This pubs small beer garden separates the pub from the Brodie's brewery. They do make some excellent beers. The Blonde and the sunshine were my favourites but I managed to sample most of them and they were all pretty decent.

The Thai food here is reputed to be excellent. I'm afraid I only tried some prawn crackers but they were certainly decent so I'd be keen to try a full meal here sometime.

This is a really excellent pub, very close to a 5 rating, but I'd like to come back to be sure.

I can't think of many things the USA and Leyton have in common. However, this brewery tap of a microbrew is first rate. The American culture for ignoring the advertising heavy brands in favour of visiting somewhere local making beer themselves is largely missing in London. In fact, I cannot think of another pub attached to a brewery in London other than Fuller's in Chiswick now that Youngs in Wandsworth shut the doors.

Brodie's beers are old school in packaging, but new in ideas. In fact one could say they have too many ideas as they brew about 15 beers. All of them that are available at the time of visit are £1.99 a pint. On the saturday night I visited most of the locals were drinking lager from the usual brand names. My friend and I choose to run up a tab of halves of the Brodies. There was so much to try and the bar staff were very friendly. When a large head was poured, a small glass to top it up with was also provided. When asked about the beer, advice was given with a smile.

Food looked hearty, but due to a private event in the back room, the kitchen had too long a delay to try the grub. Very nice interior, although a little difficult to find. This place is worth a visit and maybe a second visit and a third...

For our last night in Leyton, my housemate and I decided to head back to the only pub in the area we'd ever consider our local. In a not-too-brilliant area this is a reliable old man's boozer with a bit of a secret; the thai food is really good.

If you're usually a wine bar and cocktail kind of person, the beer mat and glass collections and the mounted animal heads on the walls (not to mention the stuffed fox in a box) might scare you off, otherwise, it's got quite a cosy, old-fashioned charm. Whoever looks after the hanging baskets lining the outside of the pub does a stellar job, as they seem to be blooming all year round.

In true pub style, there's also a big screen TV (inevitably screening football / sport of some kind) and some perpetually drunk locals, but head out to the back bar where the food is served and it's not bad at all. Drinks are cheap, the staff are friendly, and did I mention the thai food?

Yes, get the thai food. The menus might be a bit hard to find, but it's worth it for the price.

An excellent old-fashioned East End pub with the added advantage of its own micro-brewery. Brodies Red is particularly flavoursome. It is a dark amber coloured beer of average strength which has a taste of mild about it.

Excellent selection of inexpensive and unique brews, large projector screen for sporting events (we watched Murray lose to some Swiss guy, unfortunately), cheap but expansive food menu, authentic decor (including framed period political cartoons), and hilarious commentary from the peanut gallery of regulars. Victoria's uncle would be proud.

Fantastic pub with excellent staff and by far the best ales in East London. Brodies beers are brewed on the premises and are simply amazing.

A friendly relaxed local, traditional pub. We have been coming here for about 7 years now and seen a few changes but it retains its welcoming atmosphere. A nice bright courtyard out back which always has pretty hanging baskets and plants in summer, making a great little oasis in which to catch some fresh air. Good food available including a tasty range of thai food - not the cheapest of pub food but not bad and good quality so worth it. Average drinks prices - pint of Kronnenberg lager is £2.95 and glass of 175 ml white wine is £2.55.

Situated on the busy Leyton High Road, this pub offers an excellent place to have a quiet drink or a nice evening meal with friends.

There is a pub quiz on Sunday nights, and often live music - a quartet or maybe some jazz.

The staff are friendly and pleasant and the clientele is varied.

Food is fantastic, especially the thai menu which I could not recommend more highly. Reasonably priced and very tasty - we visit regularly and have never been disappointed.

A good selection of ales, and a micro brewery on site. Beer garden to the rear and a friendly pub cat who will come and curl up by the fire in the winter.
