Winters Hotel München Am Hauptbahnhof

Ok what do you want from a hotel, me personally I want clean and secure the basics and this hotel does the basics.

I'm not sure which Winter hotel the pictures on the website are from but i do not think it is this one. The rooms, well my room, is in need of some updating which I think goes beyond a coat of paint. The room just felt old. On the plus side the heat worked tremendously well in both the bedroom and the ensuite!!

The location of the hotel is great just over the road from the main train station so getting from the airport to the hotel is easy. It is within walking distance of all the sites you will want to see in Munich, especially if it is Christmas market season, gluhwein anyone ;0)

It does have a bar which, to be honest i have no idea when it closes, that was open late although the staff member needed some persuasion (that a group of English ladies provided) to sell spirits as opposed to just beer.

In the day and age we live in I was surprised by the system they used for the room keys. Yes they still use actual keys!! Because of this you have to leave it at the hotel and make sure you take a piece of card they give you so you can get the room key back upon your return.

The best feature of this hotel is its location and price, so as long as you are not planning on spending to much time in a hotel room then you should have no problem as I found that whilst it is in need of updating (in my opinion) it serves the purpose. A side note depending who you book with you can get 50% off the car park which is located behind the hotel.
