My boyfriend and I came here since our hotel was nearby, and we weren't disappointed. The place had a great atmosphere that was homey and obviously a well known local spot. (There was a group of woman playing a card game at a nearby table)

We decided to be courageous and ordered the spaetzle and local beer and radler which the waitress suggested and was very good. For dessert we managed to squeeze in the Apple Strudel with vanilla icecream and whip cream which was to die for!

Throughout the evening our waitress was really friendly and even took time to answer our questions about the German language, bar, and menu. When we asked why the menu was on a wooden stick, she explained that the bar was named after a book which she brought to our table!

All in all, it was a fun night after our previously horrid experience in Munich.

The book that the bar is named after.

I came here for dinner with my cousin and his friends. This is suppose to be a Schwabish restaurant. Schwabish is the local area. Thei Schwabish food selection is about 7 items. I had one (Linsen mit spätzel und saiterswurst) and it was OK. Their other food (snitchzel, steak, kattorfel, etc.) looks better.

Note to non-Germans. If you see a wurst salat (sausage salad), it is literally a salad made out of sausages and there are no veggies.

I had a shot, two 0.4L radlers, and my meal and it came out to 14€.

A student bar serving food without pretensions: large portions of the common schnitzel & fries and local dish kaesespaetzle (say, cheese macaroni) for a student price of 6 or 7 euros. The friendly staff firmly rounds this up to 4 stars.

We decided to try this place since it was cold outside and less than a 10 minute walk from our hotel. It was open early when we got there at 4:00. The atmosphere and service were greatThe snitzel was smaller than expected but the creamy mushroom sauce was awesome. The fries were cold. They didn't take a credit card which was disappointing and unusual. Overall a good experience.
