Potentially the best value for lunch on the street; €3.50 for soup and bread, €4.50 toasties

This is one of those places you'd easily miss, a simple no fuss cafe on a corner of Aungier St. The deal here is a concise, straightforward menu- soup, sandwiches, baked potatoes, a burger option, a pasta option, alongside a couple of daily specials. Choose what you fancy from the cool clipboard menus hanging on the wall, order at the till and find yourself a seat.

Each time I've been here it's been a toastie for me, it just seems like the type of thing you should be eating in a place like this while flicking through the paper. Good bread, good fillings and reasonably priced at €4.50. It's now my go-to toastie venue of choice in the Aungier St area. For something so simple it can be surpringly hard to find a decent one that doesn't cost near a tenner, right?

Drove past this hidden little spot a few times it always looked like a nice place for a stop off.

Walked in early in the am to a particularly nice girl at the till, very chatty n pleasant. I ordered the French toast and a latte.

The French toast was good came with 3 rashers and maple syrup really hit the spot on the cold morning. Didn't get to try any if the other food so couldn't comment on anything else. The coffee was nice but not worth traveling a distance for.

The seating area is plainly decorated enough, but up at the kitchen and till end it's really cool pastel painted wood counter. Really pretty. And definitely worth a stop if your near by.

I came here about a year ago and just now remembered to write a review when I was chatting to friends about it. Great sandwiches (although nothing mind-blowing menu-wise, mostly standard faves) and soup the last time I was in. It's cute and cozy with friendly service and really excellent value - the food is so affordable!

Fantastic spot to roll through for lunch. Spend 15 minutes or 2 hours just as easily. I'll definitely be back soon!

Visited here after reading a few mixed reviews on here, wanted to see what it was like for myself. I ordered a latte and tuna Jalapeno toasty which was delicious and great value at €4.50. The owner was friendly and had a good sense of humor (unlike some of the stuck up snobs who previously posted reviews of this place). People need to lighten up and stop thinking they are feminist campaigners, I chatted to the owner for about 10 minutes and the guy was nothing but helpful and mannerly. Maybe it's just some prunes don't have the sense to get the Irish humor.

Anyway dismiss the ridiculous review attacking this place, I found it to be great value and a perfect spot to pick up a hangover cure.

I've been here twice now and the food has failed to impress me both times. The baked potato with chili and cheese was served cold, which didn't help with how cold the restaurant was. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was decent, but the sandwich didn't have much cheese in it and they failed to mention that there would be tomatoes and onions in it.

The food alone is not the reason for a one star review; I came here with two friends of mine and the service we received was horrible. Two of three of us were ordering food while one opted out as she was not hungry, but when we placed all out items down at a table we were promptly asked to move to a smaller table as only two of us were eating. After moving to a smaller 4 person table, we were again asked to move to a two person table so that another group of three may use our table and my friend that didn't order was basically asked to leave. I was horrified by the treatment we received and immediately after we finished our food, out plates were cleaned off the table and we were asked to leave.

I've never been treated so horribly at a restaurant and I'm unsure if it was due to the fact that we were American or College students or something else completely, but I do know that I won't be returning to this place anytime soon and I'll be sure to spread the word about our treatment here.

This is one of my favorite places in Dublin. Every sandwich that I've tried has been amazing and is very affordable. The coffee is great and staff is friendly. The burger is also a great alternative, although I would recommend the chicken pesto sandwich or the grilled cheese. So good!

I had a nice breakfast here one morning while killing time in the area. It's quite small and their menu is not lengthy, but the prices are good. I had eggs with beans and toast (my standard veggie "fry"). Nothing special, could probably get something better for just a bit more money. At the same time, I don't want to downplay it, as it was a perfectly nice place. Just not anything to rave about.

I really like Wolf + Spoon. I liked it in its previous incarnation as Crunch Café and I still really like it. It has had a bit of a branding overhaul and you know order your food and pay then and there which I really like at lunchtime.
It still has the same people running it so they've retained some of the old favourites from the old menu while also expanding this and offering lunch time specials. Thank goodness... I'd have been so upset if their amazingly tasty and good value baked potatoes had gone off the menu. The baked potato is served with salad and coleslaw. You can then add one of four toppings if you like; chilli, homemade baked beans, chicken and pesto, and I think the other option involves cheese but I can't really remember. €6.50 for baked potato with their own baked beans - amazing!!
I was also here for breakfast recently. Good range of options; I went for French toast, and it was goooood.
Wolf + Spoon is really tasty, very good value, the staff are nice and friendly and it's just a pleasant environment to have food. If you sit in you'll see all the regulars that come in and are greeted by name. Eat here.

Cosy little place with affordable, unpretentious, freshly made tasty food and friendly service. I love that you can see the Chef cook. Will go back for sure!
