It is August.
It is Tuesday evening.
You are in Machynlleth, fancy a pizza.
You have heard about the Wynnstay Hotel Pizzeria. You go there. All chairs are on the table. It looks pretty much closed.
Studied the menu: too expensive. The hotel looks in a bit of a state if I may say so from the outside. The only pizzeria in town. I'd buy a frozen one in the shop - or made my own pizza from scratch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 011.
Passiert hier aber öfter so 'was.
Schade! - Ceri M.Barry, Vereinigtes Königreich81682130. Nov. 2008Erster Beitrag
Me and my husband found this after a day of walking in the moutains. It was a lovely place for a well deserved meal and glass of wine.
The vegetarian selection was fantastic and the steak was cooked to perfection too!!
The staff were welcoming and freindly and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Hel…)Edinburgh, Vereinigtes Königreich057624. Aug. 2007
Proper stone-baked pizza, freshly made to order, cooked four at a time. The Wynnstay pizza restaurant is a great place to go with friends to share any number of the varied menu of pizzas. I recommend any of the ones with goats' cheese on. They do a mean Fiorentina, too.

This is the place you want to end up in after a long walk in the hills on a Sunday afternoon in Winter. It's dark and full of old wood furniture with a real fire, giving it an old coach house feel. Order a hot chocolate, sit back and soak up the heat from the fire. If you're not a guest then you have to wait until 6 for the bar to open. They have a great range of wines and beers. As it's a hotel, it's not cheap but you can't beat it for tranquility and warmth.

We had a great first time experience of the pizza restaurant at the Wynnstay and were pleased at what we got. Excellent quality and reasonable value. I now find they do take aways and that's where we will be going for ours in future. Staff were lovely too. Well done!

I've eaten at the Wynnstay Hotel Pizzaria twice now, both times at the end of a long day's driving and visiting customers.
It's not perfect, I'll admit. Last time I went there, they were just about to close up for the night due to a 'lack of customers' at 8:45 PM.
The receptionist in the hotel had tipped them off that I was going to come in and eat once I'd taken my bags up to my room.
I ordered off the chef as the waitress had gone home. I got a nice cold beer and sat downyuck! the table was all sticky. Luckily, I'm not fussed by such details.
I ordered a salad, which was great, nice, simple and very fresh. The pizza was superb. I am something of a pizza snob, and this pizza was way better than anything you'll ever get in the chain pizza places such as Pizza Express, Ask, Zizzi etc. The only way it could have been improved was to have been cooked in a wood-fired oven.
The place is well hidden at the back of the hotel. I give the place four stars for the great food and for having the good grace not to tell me they were closing for the night. Netty's review was pretty unfair I think she owes it to them to go and try it one time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (bill_…)London, Vereinigtes Königreich11149. Juli 2010
It prides itself on its use of locally produced ingredients. A wide and varied selection of dishes beautifully cooked and presented.
