Michaels 4-Sterne-Beitrag:
to SMF and back!
I flew in and out of SMF on a recent weekend via Hawaiian Airlines. As a first time traveler to this airport, I definitely appreciated the appropriate signage and spacious terminal.
1. Yes, SMF is comprised of just two terminals: A and B. I arrived and departed thru Terminal B.
2. Yes, after checking in at your respective airline, passengers will need to take a train/tram to the main terminal area: TSA security check points and gates. On arrival, passengers will need to take the same transportation to the baggage claim area(s).
3. Yes, I thought the TSA workers were efficient, as well as polite but firm. The only circumstance that made my entire TSA experience more lengthy than it had to be were the passengers in front of me not following policy (not removing their electronic devices from their bags, not emptying their pockets, etc).
4. Yes, I was definitely surprised, as well as relieved, that many of the food businesses were open so early. My flight was at 725am and I arrived at the requisite two hours before departure. After looking around at the various food vendors, I went ahead an paid for my astronomically priced $4 bottle of water, along with some fruit and yogurt for my morning meal.
5. Yes, I personally thought gates section of Terminal B were clean, spacious and well-lit. There was also adequate seating at my gate as well (unlike a certain terminal at SFO).
BOTTOM LINE:
Efficient TSA service, clean areas, and adequate facilities at Terminal B at SMF.
