The tale of the Maragarita Happy Hour Challenge:
25 minutes and counting til happy hour commenced, my neighbor and I took it upon ourselves to take full advantage of the margarita special. The clock was ticking and our waiter stopped by.
She asked what can I get you, and we responded, "2 frozen, STAT." An 8 oz frozen maragarita? hah! Please!!! you are just asking to be taken advantage of!
Next thing I knew we had finished four, a nacho plate, and some popcorn shrimp and I don't remember how we got down those steep-ass stairs without breaking my neck....
Ah.. well the roof was open.. and sunshine makes everything seem that much better.
Where did my money go?
Venturing into my new neighborhood I came here for a friend on a Saturday afternoon looking to get my grub on BUT a few things got in the way:
-the ridiculously small portions
-food that was not very warm.. cold almost
-price is pretty ny standard, but I would expect more for the lack of quality
We had the tortilla chips with the eggs on top (soggy weh) and the veggie burrito which I would recommend. It was nice and crispy but I just wish it had more fresh veggies in it.
Staff was pretty awesome which made a mediocre experience better!! Our waiter was on his second shift at the restaurant and was a little flustered, but was very personable!
Drinks were pretty strong! But our table neighbors had ordered some delicious looking shrimp salads which I think I will be back to try. Also really nice outdoor seating which makes for excellent people watching!
I... Will always.... Love you..youuuuuuu.... You are the best. And will always have a special place in my heart.
Think seafood Chipotle...
A few things to note:
1. Decliciousless levels are off the charts when dinning in- take out or delivery is meh but still really food.
2. Takeout/delivery takes a good minute so schedule accordingly
3. Atomic orange did the branding in store- dope!
4. Very fresh A+++
5. guac and chips are amazing and do not disappoint and come free with orders over $25!
6. A little pricey so be prepared not to add a million extras or your bill will be over $25 real quick!
Love this place for a guilt free lunch or dinner any time.
Excellent Qdoba, personally like them better than chipotle but there are not too many locations. This one is super convenient- pretty close to the union square station. The staff at this location is what sets it apart, never had a bad experience with anyone that works there. Very clean, fresh food, and reasonable prices (current deal on all burritos $6!)
Manager (i think) is incredibly nice, such a nice change of pace when considering the usual new york grumpsters!
100% worth any wait time. NO LIES!!! Super tiny spot but the perfect little taste of Miami in Soho
Although our service was a litttttttle shotty ill ignore it because of:
- CORN ON THE COB: omg. OMG i don't even want to know the different kinds of unhealthy that went down on that corn but DAMN. real good you all, real. good. Didn't even mind having to pick it out of my teeth all night. DAMN.
- CAMARONES: the shrimps..... if only there were 3 times the amount of food. My friend ordered this, and seriously i had one bite and was jealous i didn't order two meals. delicious!!
-TLACOYOS: my meal. SPOT ON. corn boats stuffed with goat cheese, beans, and tomatos with rice on the side. perfect- absolutely.
-DRINKS: my friends ordered multiple- 'nuff said.
Can't wait to go back and try everything else all at once.
Love this place, second one I have been too.. and I'm gonna be honest... It's only for the margaritas. $4 aint a joke you all... and for the first time in all my visits to benny's and blockheads... my friend and I didn't have to wait to be seated, and that never happens...seriously! I know right!?
Great staff.. they even charged my phone for me, baw thanks!
Margaritas were on point and so friggen cold my lime froze solid.
Maybe it was the drinks speaking.. but I can't ever remember seeing a cleaner restroom in a restaurant in NYC before, gold star team!
In conclusion- loves it.
I am a huge fan of Far Rockaway beach and I'm really gonna go out there and say that it just might be my favorite beach in NY........!
The boardwalk at the beach is amazing and Rockaway Taco is a place that you will want to try at one of your visits. I really love how fresh everything is, how personable the staff while dealing with so many different people (the line is huge, but goes fast and is totally worth it) and I really love how unique the actually stand is down the block from the boardwalk.
Everything seems to be made with care and though with a purpose- a fun and unique experience. It always has me coming back, and I really love bringing friends here.
The food is very light- you will feel satisfied enough to be full on about $10 but not stuffed enough that you can't enjoy the rest of your beach day.
Just be careful- there are a lot of stinky hipsters lurking about, but it comes with the territory.
Love Mi Pequena!!! This is my first time at the Nicholasville location and it was a great experience.
My date and I shared beef tacos, beef nachos, pork empanadas, and we left with a ton of leftovers and big fat food babies.
Love the staff, love the quality of the food, and love that I always leave incredibly satisfied!
This is THE BEST CHIPOTLE IN THE CITY.
Yes I went there.
Yes there is a line outside of the door during lunch hour on weekdays. BUT it goes incredibly quickly and the staff often come around and take orders through the line.
Why is it so great? Well you already know what is offered, how it tastes, but how often do you get a smile, and greeting at an incredibly busy Manhattan chain restaurant? Probably not every time you go.
This Chipotle has some of the most friendly and up beat staff I have encountered.
NO, Thank you!!
This place's only redeeming quality is the outdoor patio. The guac was alright, but stale chips and super bitter margaritas fall within the midtown meh standard pretty well. Our waitress found it difficult to make her way back to our table more than twice in the hour and a half we sat at her table, and had a lovely attitude to match! I would go back for the happy hour, but not much else.
The classic after boozin, brunch spot. This place seems to think it is cajun or southern, but it feels very tex-mex to me... maybe, I can't quit put my finger on it, but there is a lot of spice on the menu.
My second 'hungover after new years' experience, and I was pleased. Go for the crunchy french toast- can't go wrong if the menu seems overwhelming.
Cheese grits above the mason dixon are disappointing in general, I can't hold it against Wishbone for that reason. They 'aight' but not great.
Had a really good experience getting a table for 6, we called ahead and there was a 15 minute wait around 1pm, can't say that is a regular thing, but giving a call ahead of time is worth it.
Great server- very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu!
