Mmmm coffee brewed by the cup with many different varieties and a sprig of mint on top. Can life get any better?
And, an added bonus, there's an awesome study room in the back. Maybe a little too awesome because it can get pretty difficult to find a spot... but there are a few tables out front too if its a nice day and you want a bit of sun.
I always get confused by what to try/what I have tried before here, but the iced coffee is fantastic. Very full-bodied and smooth. They also sell their coffee beans by the pound, which are nice to have around for those days when you can't get out of the house without your first cup of coffee :)
I'm a little embarrassed by how often I frequent this cafe. It's a great study space with lots of outside seating (downside is that they don't have AirBears) and a perfect way to spend time between classes. My cafe au lait drink of choice is a bit milky for me, but usually asking for non-fat milk makes it better. I'm not a fan of paying $0.10 more for changing your milk option and occasional burnt coffee/mediocre pastries. Coffee usually is strong and excellent, personal faves including iced americanos, strada bianca mochas, and also chai tea lattes.
I like to come here when I'm killing time in downtown Berkeley. It's new-looking, its clean, and they have pretty decent coffee and lemonade. I always am a little surprised when I have my $2 out for my $2 coffee and it comes out to $2.26 or so... I guess tax is not included in their prices? Oh well, I'll still be coming back.
Such a cute corner cafe! I enjoyed a bowl of asparagus soup here and it was quite enjoyable. Also, any place that serves tea in tea pots earns a extra star in my book (although not loose leaf, sadly). It was pretty loud though so probably not too ideal for studying.
Living close-by over the past few years has meant I've tried most things on the menu. I guess this means things aren't too bad.
I really enjoy the:
tomato mozzarella salad
arugula pasta salad
avocado mozzarella sandwich
mezze plate- flatbread, dolma, feta, salad, and hummus.
The coffee is pretty below par... if you need caffeine you should try an espresso drink if you don't want burnt coffee. And, avoid the mocha bianca if you don't want to feel like you are drinking pure syrup.
Overall, a nice place to study or catch up with friends with a beautiful view of the bay.
