I've been working with Express off and on since 1998, and they've been excellent at finding top notch assignments for me. The current staff is so wonderful, efficient and friendly. There is a small-town feeling in that the people in the office know who all their employees are and treat them like they are family. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the assignments I've received and how much I would recommend them to anyone I know or don't know!
Peanut's Pals is a very warm and inviting hang-out for dogs! There is plenty to do and lots of love. Maria makes sure each dog is taken care of and well-petted. Her place is always immaculate and the pups are always happy. Peanut is a most gracious host to his doggie associates, and helps everyone feel welcome. Rates are very reasonable, and the location is pretty ideal, as Firdale Village has gone to the dogs. So, if you like, you can treat your doggie to lunch at the dining dog, and drop the satisfied pooch at Peanut's Pals while you catch a play upstairs, or if you are going away for the weekend, she has excellent boarding, as well.
Such a fun and novel idea. This doggie cafe is proof that Firdale Village has gone to the dogs, but in a good way! The pups get treated to a four-course meal and doggie cocktails. The atmosphere is pleasing, and although the dog's people aren't served, there are plenty of options for take-out food.
Tammy, the waitress is the best! She knows how to take a humdrum dining experience and make it special. Every time we come in, she is so friendly, helpful and honest.
Tonight was no exception - we came in for the WiFi, but ordered food. I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. I swear she must put magic dust on the food she serves to make it taste better. The chicken was tasty, and the fries were yummy. Not to mention the ice tea tasted like heaven.
We will make sure we always come when Tammy's waiting, because nobody does it like her.
My tire popped in a big way on my way to school, and the closest tire shop was about a mile and a half away. Unfortunately, I destroyed my wheel on the trip back, but we were able to get it fixed for a little over $100, including the wheel. I was pleased because the people behind the counter were very accommodating and finished the car in less than an hour. Every time I go to Les Schwab, I get excellent service, friendly people and free popcorn. Les Schwab has been our shop of choice for years, and I find the service in this particular shop exceptional.
My mom was at Swedish Edmonds, and we hadn't eaten all day. We decided to go to Kafe Neo because I really wasn't looking forward to hospital cafeteria food. I am so glad we went, because the food was deeeelishioso. I ordered the Greek Spreads once again along with the Avgolemono Soup, and was in paradise (I could totally hear Mike Reno and Ann Wilson singing as I was eating -- "Almost paradise, we're knockin on heaven's door..."). The spreads were tasty, the pita beautiful, and the soup divine. My boyfriend ordered a Gyro and Greek Fries, while my son ordered a Chicken Pizza. All was wonderful, and our water glass was never empty. After the stress of having a family member in the hospital, it was so nice to be able to relax and enjoy the food. Once again, GO HERE. It's what all the cool people in Lynnwood do!
So, there are new owners at my favorite neighborhood coffee stand. First of all, they have put out a new pointer sign that gives them way more visibility. The new owner is so very sweet and helpful - she has really kept the neighborhood feel of the stand. But, I must say the coffee is awesome - Cafe Vita is what they use, and it's beyond amazing. Not to mention, they have a wide variety of syrups and sauces - even sugar free. The prices are reasonable, and the service is fast. So, the next time you are at Safeway or JoAnn's fabrics, stop by and give Tuscany a try!
It was a dark and stormy night.... Okay, so it was warm and starry, but it was night nonetheless. I was on a hunt for a previous edition of a textbook and an unsuccessful trip to the Lynnwood store led me to this branch. Parking was a bit of a challenge because they share the lot with several restaurants, including Olive Garden. But, I found parking that was just shy of Rock Star and entered the store.
It is a large store that has that intoxicating booky smell, with the enticing lure of words on pages and books screaming, "Read me." But, I was on a mission. I went to the shelf and found the book I was looking for, but D'oh, it was the wrong edition. I went to the gentleman behind the counter who was nice enough to check the inventory of other stores. Now, I just came from the Lynnwood store where they basically said they didn't have it and that was it, so it was refreshing to have this gentleman check for me. I made a call to the Capital Hill store and was on my merry little way.
I mean, Half Price Books always has an awesome selection of books, but sometimes it feels as though you are on your own in the store. I was so happy to find someone who was willing to go that tiny extra step. As a result, I have my textbook and will pass my class.
Thank you, Half Price Books!
Can I get a sixth star, please? This is by far the best daycare our family has ever utilized - not just because it's clean and safe, but because they truly care. It's obvious the staff isn't here just to collect a paycheck - they have true compassion for the children and are very communicative with the parents. The director is a straight-forward kind of lady who is so professional and friendly. My son has been going here on and off since he was in kindergarten. Now he's in 5th grade and we keep going back.
My son loves all the teachers, but his favorite is Ms. Talia. She goes the extra mile for the kids, and one can truly tell she gives her heart and soul to all the kids. Not only are the teachers and directors first-rate, but they do all sorts of fun things for the kids. My son is school-aged, and he is never every bored. During the summer, the older kids go on all kinds of fun and interesting field trips, so it's more like a day camp than a day care.
All the children are created equally and with care and love. There is such a peace of mind knowing you can leave your child somewhere and not have to worry about their safety while you are at work, or whatever you're doing for the day.
Whole Foods is amazing! All that good food and Toms shoes, too. The bakery is phenomenal. We had cookies that were melt in the mouth good. There is such an extensive selection of natural foods, as well as a great deli. Everybody on staff is so friendly and accommodating -- not to mention they all have great senses of humor. My favorite thing about the store is the ice and water machine! They have the wonderful and oh so gentle on the teeth pellet ice, or as I like to call them, ice turds. I love to get a glass of ice water and carry it around the store with me. In addition, they also have some very outstanding frozen yogurt, and the cheese section just can't be beat!
OMG, I can't say enough great things about this place. Sure, there is a line - but it moves VERY quickly. If you have a HUGE appetite, then get the regular (two patties), but if you are just a regular eater like me, then the junior size is better. They have an outstanding selection of condiments -- their grilled onions are like poetry. Because it was my son, boyfriend and I, we got a large fry - there were plenty for all three of us, and they were tasty. So, the burgers are 'licious, and the fries are inspired, but I was so pleased with the soda selection. Every Coke product you can imagine. My drug - eh, I mean drink of choice is Coke Zero. BUT, they have Sprite Zero and even Mello Yello. Sure, the tables are cramped, but it gives us an opportunity to get to know our neighbors.
Choices abound at Fatburger. Fat or skinny fries, the Coke Infinity Machine, and burgers you can customize any a gozillion different ways. There is something for everyone here.
I ordered a small turkey burger with swiss cheese, mushrooms, lettuce and relish. I ordered skinny fries to go with the burger, knowing full well I'd probably only eat about five. Oh yes, and my soda of choice was a Coke Zero with vanilla. The burger was juicy and messy (my philosophy is, the messier the burger, the better the burger). It was so yummy -- the turkey patty was flavorful and just the perfect texture, and the bun was perfectly fresh. The fries were very yummy, but I don't eat too many fries anymore, so I shared.
The service was fast and friendly, and the food was amazing. We will definitely be coming back, as I agree they dance circles around those Guys!
I love OSF because it's always consistent. You get your soup or salad, bread, entree and ice cream included with the meal. Oh yes, and your beverage, too. I love the decor of the restaurant because there is always something cool to look at. The prices are super reasonable and the food is never gourmet, but certainly edible.
This time, I went to meet a couple of family members. One of the people in my party has some very special dietary challenges and the staff was very accommodating and understanding. She ordered linguine with mizithra cheese, which she loved. I was just so impressed with the attentive staff. We had two people waiting on us, so I figured one of them must have been training.
I ordered the lasagna, and thought it was okay, but not super duper. The pasta was a little mushier than I like, but the cheeses were excellent, and the sauce was good. I was so happy because they didn't object to our lengthy stay, and they kept making sure our beverage glasses were never empty.
I will definitely return because the food is a great deal, and it is always consistent. Sometimes you have to wait in a long line, but it is always worth it and you always leave full!
Know what I love about The Rock? Well, besides the rock and roll and the wonderful bathrooms -- it's the variety of food. The last two times I've eaten here, I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla. It's an appetizer but is the perfect lunch for someone who wants to feel full without being overfilled. Unlike other places, theirs is wood-fired so it's not greasy at all. The sundried tomato tortilla is the perfect accompaniment to the delicious chucked and wonderful cheese. My cousin was with me an ordered an apple walnut salad that looks amazing. I couldn't help but drool as she ate the spinach, julienne apples and apple vinaigrette. I think I will order this next time! Definitely yum times two!
I love you, Trader Joe's. You always have the right food for whatever my family needs. The samples in the back of the store always give me great ideas for meals, and everything is really inexpensive.
I love that the snacks are for the most part healthy and again, inexpensive compared to other grocery stores that carry similar foods. My only frustration is when something I love gets pulled from the shelves. Of course, since everything runs in cycles, the stuff I love usually comes back.
But, the real reason I hold Trader Joe's in such high regard is the quality of the staff. Everyone there is very helpful, and truly makes each customer feel at home. Every time we go in, they make jokes with us, sing with us, and even give more cowbell.
I am so grateful we have a Trader Joe's so close by!
I attended their soft opening on the first day of business. My whole family was so excited about a new Thai place opening in our neighborhood, so I couldn't wait to try. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and entered into a nicely decorated, modern and warm restaurant. I was given water immediately, and the hostess was so sweet throughout the whole transaction.
I ordered off the lunch menu, which had some outstanding choices. I was quite impressed with the amount of things the menu contained, considering it was a "dress rehearsal menu." I decided on the massaman curry with just one star. I always order one star when I try a new place, because each place often has a different perception of one star, etc. The lunch combo comes with the main dish, pad thai and rice. I believe there is also supposed to be soup, but I didn't get any -- I think that was due to the soft opening, and it hadn't been prepared. I wasn't worried, however - soup would have been a lot of food for me. The portions were generous to begin with, there was a lot of pad thai on my plate, and the curry was plentiful, as well. The one-star is absolutely perfect for a child or a spiceaphobe, but I think next time I'll go with 2. The veggies in my curry were thick and cut beautifully. They were the absolute perfect texture - carrots were not mushy, and the potatoes weren't crunchy. The flavor of the sauce was wonderful, rich and sweet - just like I like it! I was most impressed by the Pad Thai, as it was so very flavorful. I love a pad thai that is slightly sweet and doesn't taste like it's flavored with only ketchup, and this definitely fit that bill. Nice texture of the noodles, wonderful flavor, and just enough to whet the appetite.
All in all, the experience was pretty groovy. Even though it was their first day open, there was a confidence and professionalism in the service which made the atmosphere so very comfortable. I am definitely going back and can't wait for their menu to expand. I totally recommend this place to my friends, family, and well -- you!
We came here for lunch and had an amazing experience. The prices are right and the portions are out of this world. I ordered their almond stir-fried chicken lunch. It came with soup (hot and sour - it was GOOD) and yummy fried rice. I so love their almond chicken because it has such excellent flavor, the chicken is the perfect texture, and the almonds and veggies are always nice and crunchy! Once again, these geniuses sealed their title as best Chinese Restaurant (Americanized) in the North End...
I love Red Onion! I always feel like I'm at Cheers whenever I come in. There is a definite homey feeling here.
The new menu is amazing -- love love love the French Onion Soup and half sandwich deal. The French Onion Soup is so very flavorful, and the sandwich is made on a very fresh and large baguette. It's definitely worth the $4.99 price. Oh yeah, and they serve Big E Root Beer - the best RB on the planet.
Also, Red Onion Burgers are major supporters of Shop With a Cop with their Cheeseburger Babies Foundation. I always feel so great knowing the owners care so much about our community.
So, through the years, it's been my pleasure to update my reviews and give five stars every time.
Keep up the excellent work, and I'll keep writing glowing reviews.
I want to clarify to Alice C that they weren't pouring caramel into the portafilter -- that was white coffee, which they keep in a container that looks similar to something that might be used to dispense caramel.
That being said, I love their coffee and the choices they give us. My favorite is the Sugar Free caramel macchiato. Imagine, a choice for a diabetic like me. Not many places offer SF caramel sauce, and I tell you, it tastes remarkably like the sugar-full kind.
The Wi-Fi is wonderful, and the atmosphere lends itself to hanging out, visiting with friends or just hanging out, surfing the web.
I can't wait to try Trivia night!
Good stuff! We went to this wonderful place with my mother, and I judge a restaurant by the amount my mother complains. Her only complaint was the menu would take a half an hour to read all the way through. I had the Hawaiian Burger with fries and milkshake. The burger was perfection, the pineapple was the perfect flavor balance with the burger and bacon. It was messy, which I've learned from the Welfare Burgers of my childhood is an indication of an excellent burger. I wasn't really impressed with the fries (although they are okay for frozen, precut fries), I prefer handcut fries, but that's just me. The shake, however was so yummy -- I had peanut butter and chocolate and Oh Em Gee, it was thick and flavorful. My boyfriend had the bleu cheese burger and said it was awesome - he LOVED the fries, and my mom had a regular cheeseburger and curly fries (which, she said were the best she's had in a long time). The service was super-fast and friendly, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It is warm, cozy and clean. I say definitely go here for a good meal, and definitely order a shake.
Fred Meyer always has what I need, and when they have a sale, they know how to rock it! I wouldn't say that Fred Meyer is the cheapest place to shop, but they certainly have it goin on when it comes to variety. I mean, it truly is one-stop shopping, this means they have a little bit of everything you may be looking for from Skecher shoes to Nutritional Yeast.
I love their clearance clothing selection, in fact, much of my wardrobe has come from that department. I love the extra percentage that gets taken off the already marked down price. In addition, I'm continually impressed with their shoe selection for my whole family.
In addition, their food section is wonderful - with emphasis on their natural foods section. We go there frequently for aforementioned Nutritional Yeast (hint: it's wonderful on popcorn) and the amazing Dave's Killer Bread (Sin Dawg, please). Not to mention the Kroger brand name is really quite good.
I love this location because it is so clean and airy. The store is easy to navigate and the staff is always super-friendly. I find the cashier lines go much faster at this store than the other Lynnwood location, and I'm not sure why - maybe it's because there are so many lanes?!?
So, one-stop shopping? Yes, please, and I'd like to get some gas for my car, too! Oh yeah, and don't forget your rewards card!
Yummmmmmmmmeeeeeeeee! OMG, this place is so awesome. The pho is amazing with outstanding broth. The service is out of this world -- we were made to feel like royalty in this little hole in the wall place across the street from Fred Meyer in Lynnwood. I had the seafood pho, and the boys had chicken pho. My son said, "Mom, this is my favorite restaurant on the planet!" Awesome value and even more awesome flavor! The last time we were in the restaurant, it was very busy but we still got A #1 service!
Great food, wonderful service! I love this particular location because Nicole, who works during the day is so sweet. Also, they have spinach as one of the options for your sandwich. I normally get the seafood delight on flatbread with spinach (which is hard to find at other Subways), cucumber and honey mustard. I'm not super crazy about their soups, but the rest of the food definitely makes up for it. My boyfriend always gets the $5 foot-long ham with just about every topping you can imagine. I wish they had a better selection of sodas, but hey at least they have diet.
I am so happy to have a decent priced grocery store in the neighborhood. I mean, I love QFC, but they tend to be a bit pricey. Wal-Mart is wonderful because they truly have a great selection, and the prices are right.
We were greeted by some really friendly people on grand opening day - including an Oreo Cookie guy! The store is really quite clean, and I have been there twice and haven't seen a "People of Walmart."
All in all, I think the store is a wonderful addition to our neighborhood, and it really hasn't been crowded at all. Just remember, there are no clothes or tools here, but it is a really great grocery store with lots of options.
I specifically want to review the Paralegal program at Edcc. It's amazing, and one of the top programs of its kind. The instructors are amazing - my favorite happens to teach in a kilt, and the classes are so informative and helpful. In addition, the college has a club called the Law Association that's especially for Paralegal students. I feel so supported in this program, and I'm learning so much.
Now, in other college things, there are many computer labs throughout the campus, and they are really easy to access. Also, there are several great places to eat - and we can't forget the Cafe. At the cafe, they serve a gourmet-style lunch (complete with linens!). The prices are very reasonable - right around $7 for food that is pretty yummy. It's also open to the general public.
So, if you are looking for an awesome community college with some great programs, then take a look at Edcc!
Okay, so I don't golf and have no desire to become a golfer, but the Golf Course is beautiful and amazingly groomed. It's right directly behind Edmonds Community College -- where I attend school, so it's a great place to take a walk between classes. There are some wonderful paved trails, and the ponds, groves of trees and fountains are like parts of a peaceful oasis. Since it's never really busy here, I've never had a problem with stray golf balls or crazy caddies running me over. But, if you are nervous about being on the course, there is a trail that goes around the course. If you are at Edmonds Community College and find yourself with some spare time, you should take a stroll around this amazing golf course.
