Family owned stereotypical Pho place.
The kind of place that you walk-in for good food not fancy atmosphere or oustanding service, if you need something yell it out and ask any of the guys in the green shirts (no such thing as YOUR server, that's a white thing). You pay at the cash register that's CASH ONLY. You may find yourself sitting next to an employee eating their lunch (they have to eat too). Oh and the fabulous koi pond at the entrance. I know live animals is a good luck/feng shui but I laughed when I saw this pond/fountain thingy-ma-bobber. It's like they started building it but then gave up and left it unfinished. Upside? They bought live koi fish to keep in it! Hope they're not on the menu. ha.
Dragged my co-worker here on a Monday afternoon and the place was poppin. Bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Parking was easy but BRING YOUR QUARTERS because its meter parking located on Broadway and a small street (forgot the name, look it up).
Pho w/Fish Balls. Balls were yummy, chewy consistency with that fried outer layer and flavorful. I didn't try the soup or noodles but co-worker finished her medium bowl so either she liked it or she's a fat-ass (well, she is......MY friend)
I had the Bun Bo Hue. Only reason I got this rather than Pho was because I was craving it. I had pho last night and pork blood just sounded so good! The broth was not as flavorful as I would have liked and meat a bit dry but this dish cured my craving. Would I order it again? Maybe, but I think next time I'll have the Bun Cha Gio Thit Noung. That seems to be the rave here and the Pho of course!
Eggrolls was decent. I like my cha gio using the clear rice paper (the kind that bubbles up) and a bit thicker with more of an exciting filling. These were skinnier rolls using egg paper. The filling was your standard filling with more glass noodles than I liked but overall satisfying.
Will I be back? OF COURSE!
