Xerxess 3-Sterne-Beitrag:
This should be a four star review but there was a bit of a service hiccup that sort of pissed me off.
Thanks to Lance F, a bunch of us gathered there on Sunday for a UYE. Contrary to my nationality I don't know a damn thing on the cafeteria line so I point. On this occasion I had pork adobo and their red curry chicken (two very easy identifiable items - the rest I don't know!). While I was very impressed with the red curry chicken the temperature of the food was luke warm at best. Of course I had to order the turon (fried plantain - tastes like banana). Mmmmmm, so damn good.
I also ordered this (source Wikipedia):
Dinuguan --- a Filipino savory stew of meat and/or offal (typically lungs, kidneys, intestines, ears, heart and snout) simmered in a rich, spicy dark gravy of pig blood, garlic, chili (most often siling mahaba), and vinegar. The term dinuguan comes from the Filipino word dugo meaning "blood". Possible English translations include pork blood stew or blood pudding stew. It is also sometimes jokingly called chocolate meat.
Half the group tried it. I think it grossed people out more than anything. I'm not a big fan but Alex H talked me into ordering it.
I had some leftover dinuguan so I asked one of the kids who was out cleaning some of the tables (the same kid who was working behind the counter) for a top for my container. Instead of grabbing one for me he abruptly pointed me to stand in line to get the top. My ass knew I could have walked up there but why would I stand in line behind 5 people to pick up a container top? Not the biggest deal but any other place I would have gone to would have have either stopped what he/she was doing or kindly ask someone behind the counter to quickly grab me a top instead of suggesting that I cut people or stand behind them for a few minutes. Crappy work ethic at such a young age. SMDH...
