Favorite place in the North End for lunch or dinner..  Artu is simply decorated and has loads of ambiance - the waitstaff is friendly and is glad to give suggestions.  My favorite things; Insalata Caprese, Penne Puttanesca, Calamari, & their yummy nightly specials are good too.  The service is surprisingly fast and the good is to die for - I don't even like that saying, I just can't think of any other way to express their awesomeness.

3 stars for the good value.  A piece of cheese pizza for $1.50!  All the drinks are $1 and any toppings to your slice are 50c each..  not too shabby!  My favorites are the mushroom or pepperoni ..  yumyumyum.  I also enjoy the veggie  (-:  It helps me feel I am making a healthy choice.  The people who work here are nice but like it if you know what you want and have your money handy.

Pretty much the only option for Indian food anywhere near the Financial District.. which makes it a winner for me!  The people who work here are usually the same and pretty friendly - I almost always get the same thing; chicken tikka masala.. for only about $8 I can get a lot of chicken tikka masala-y goodness, rice, & either salad or "soup" which is like a spicy pea kind of stuff..  Pretty much my rainy day option or when my soul is feeling heavy, I can count on this to make me feel a little better.

Where can you watch your soccer games at lunch?  Well, hopefully here since I have typed it out already.  I came here practically every day during the World Cup and ate burgers and salads and watched my teams fight it out.  Getting lunch here is a good bet, it is pretty quiet and relaxed even though the sports are at the bar..  surprisingly, I don't mind sitting at the bar here which I usually avoid at all cost.  Hoorah for the burgers and watching soccer at Coogan's - plus they make a pretty good Shirley Temple!

I have been working in the Financial District for about 2 years - I am a big fan of Pressed.  I get the same thing almost every time (the few times I have branches out I have been disapointed) Grilled cheese and tomato.  They use smoked gouda and beefsteak tomatoes on parmesan focaccia.  Though.. I have noticed the slice of tomato are pretty thin these days!  It is also a great alternative for breakfast, I highly recommend the breakfast cracker; egg, ham, and pepper jack on toasted lavash.  yum yum yum!  I suggest bringing your own drink as with add ons it is a little pricier - I usually grab my sandwich and walk down to the water - but their seating area is always clean and a good option for rainy/snowy days!  The guy who manages this location - who is usually there in the mornings - is a peach!

Wicked good Italian sub and fast service even when there is a long line and only $4! ..  I admit that the guys behind the counter intimidate me though!  Luckily I have gotten used to it a little and am ready as soon as I am called!  You could even share a small with a friend - it's gigantic!!!  If you don't have a friend for lunch you can can hop over to the Aquarium and say hi to the seals outside - they'll be your friends!!

Definitely my preference in shabu!  Every time I go here the staff is friendly and helpful and the food is awesome.  I heart hotpot and enjoy coming here to relax.  The interior is very nice and comfortable and the waitresses are super.  I am usually asked if I would like to try different noodles they make right on site which I think is awesome.  Their fish noodle is awesome!  Also close enough to the financial district that you can walk over on your lunch hour!

Plus one star on the location - because it is only a couple blocks away from my work and it is a refreshing change from larger chains.  The teas are really great and sometimes as a special treat to myself I get the Raspberry Kiss..  (but watch out, last time they made it for me it was like strawberry milk..  eei)  But other than that, out of the many times I have been there the staff is really friendly and helpful in making suggestions.  The interior is relaxing and the looks of the place are great.  I have brought my boyfriend here, who is from Seattle and has very high coffee house standards, and he even liked it!  I highly recommend Flat Black!

The Frozen Yogurt is awesome - it is low-fat and you can add as many mix in's as you'd like for 50c each.  You might be thinking - psht, whatever I can add candy to my own frozen yogurt..  but you're wrong, you can't do it like they do!  They have a special machine that mixes things into the soft-serve hardcore and then they top off your icecream with some more topping (like Reese's!) on top.  This place is a good stop for a pretty big Reese's softserve for only $3.50!  If you are a health nut - no worries - they've got you covered with fruit options for your mix-in!  I am sad to say I also have not eaten lunch here - when I finally do I will update.  (-:

This Boloco is ok - but much smaller than the one on Federal St.  Seating is limited and because it is a small space that during the lunch time rush the line is sometimes out the door - a big drawback for me during snowy or rainy days.  Also, I have noticed the staff is really laid back which I usually like..  just not when they forget my order and don't really notice I am waiting for 10 mins.  (-;  Anyway, overall Boloco is still a good lunch but the wait times/small location/mostly forgetfulness bring me down to a 2.  Yikes!
