WARNING: ATYPICAL REVIEW! I usually don't like to write reviews about places that I have only visited once. However, I don't have plans to return to the Vineyard soon, and I can't stop thinking about this dinner! Also, I admit that I went there quite a few months ago. However, I'm a nerd and jotted down notes for a review, so this should be a pretty accurate portrayal of my visit. Still, you've been warned.
To start with, going to this restaurant is a little different than going to a Mexican restaurant on the mainland. While they are usually inexpensive and easy to get into, this place was notably pricier and had a bit of a wait. I suppose that's a product of it being the only Mexican chain on the Vineyard. Still, a dinner this memorable made it completely worthwhile.
Our server was really good and attentive, and our drinks were delicious - both were par for the course. However, I still have dreams of the dinner that I had that night. I ordered the grilled vegetable burrito, which was ridiculously good. I don't think I ever figured out every vegetable that was in there, but the flavors were rich and diverse and married so well with the generous amount of guacamole that they had stuffed it with.
It didn't taste remotely "authentic", but you know it's a good sign when the mere thought of this burrito still makes me drool. I am 100% a meat eater, but I would choose this vegetarian dish over my beloved Chipotle or Anna's any day.
The rest of my party seemed to enjoy their meals, too. Basically, it's a pretty good Mexican restaurants that is crazily priced and busy, but is worth checking out for this fantastic burrito! I gave just four stars out of five, because one awesome burrito does not a perfect restaurant make.
