Best lunch in NOLA. We went here because my dad is obsessed with all things Emeril's and this is apparently where he started. I wasn't sure what it would be like, but I liked it. The martinis were 25 cents a piece. I had three. The Commander's Salad was simply delicious. This place is nice and the food is great, but it's a bit pretentious. I felt entirely underdressed. I believe this place will give a guy a jacket or tie if he's not wearing one. We were seated on the patio, probably to hide us from the other guests.
This place was great and it was so much better than Emeril's.
If I were mayor of New Orleans, I would eat brunch here at least once a week. The buffet was delicious. The crawfish were spicy. The bread budding was sweet and went great with a cup of black coffee. The Court of Two Sisters is a sweet, subtle, classy without feeling too pretentious. The service here is phenomenal and the music adds the complements the experience. When they played Moon River, I felt as if I had died and gone to heaven. The entire affair was superb.
Beignets are something I learned about in the French Quarter of Disneyland. Of course, when we headed to New Orleans for my first REAL trip to the Crescent City, we had to stop here. The line was long, but the beignets and cafe au lait was well worth it. In fact, we loved this place so much, that we stopped in several times. So although the lines get crazy and the service is slow, don't kid yourself, it's still the best place to get coffee and beignets in the city.
I went here so I could have a peanut butter burger. I wasn't expecting the creepy stage up top, but sometimes you sit next to your conservative mother in a bar with red lights, stage, and cage for a good burger, right? I did. I wasn't sure that the burger would be any good, but the folks at Lonely Planet were right. It was fantastic. I ordered an Abita Amber to go with it and have no regrets about the meal. If you're in for a little food adventure, I'd stop in and get one of the "unique" entrees.
Worth every credit card charge! I'm not even sure how many times we came here, but it felt like a lot. You can come here for food, just for drinks, and for a great bathroom break. The Jambalaya here was fabulous and the Hurricane was sweet and amazing, worth every penny and all the hype put into it. The outdoor seating is perfect. You may have to hover to grab a seat as others leave, but it's totally worth it. There is a lady in the bathroom who's going to hand you a towel when you're done washing your hands so make sure you have a dollar or two to tip her as you leave.
I loved this place and if I have my bachelorette shindig in NOLA, we will definitely be spending many hours here.
|When you wind your way through Sonoma County's Wineries, there are a lot to choose from. Here are the ones I couldn't miss on my thirtieth birthday road trip in the spring.||When I was turning thirty, I decided that it was time to visit a place I'd never been. The destination was San Francisco. I'd planned to spend a full weekend there but once my travel buddies and I started making official plans, it became clear that we had a little over 24 hours in San Francisco. Between 12 PM the first day and 5 PM the second day, you can do all of these things, plus some others. We did and we loved it.|
|McMinnville, Oregon is quickly becoming a rad place to visit if you want to enjoy the Oregon Wine Country. There are plenty of great places to eat, but these are the top five I prefer. And I know what I'm talking about because I grew up here.||So, you've decided to visit Leavenworth, Washington. I hope you love it as much as I did. To start you out on the right track, I'm going to share my top five with you. Enjoy. (You may notice that there are actually six places on the list. This is because I have six fingers on my right hand... or maybe it's because I just really couldn't get rid of one of the places on the list.)|
