I like to bicycle the Ridge trail counter-clockwise at a slow pace: trail.motionbased.com/tr…
I'm always looking for folks to bicycle Redwood with, let me know if you want to join me. There also the Tues/Thurs Rusty-Cobwebs-Mountain-Biking-Collective Joaquin Miller/Redwood rides: sports.groups.yahoo.com/…
I've walked this place many times in groups, but to walk the good parts alone on a cool mid-summer twilight is just enchanting. The fading light filtering through the redwoods, the wind rushing through the eucalyptus, the fog moving in on treetops- beautiful.
My "usual" dirt pedal- the Stage Road Trail, streams galore, all fun. Easy, all-flat route. Start out at Castle Rock parking lot- first, you're on East Bay Parks land, then across the gate, entering Mount Diablo State Park. Keep going until you feel like turning around back to the the parking lot. Just take heed of other users, especially stop for cute female horseriders.
I'm sure glad the Marin Municipal Water District opens up its lands for recreation. Walked around the Phoenix Lake, Bon Tempe Lake and Lake Lagunitas area- awesome place: great scenery, redwoods, singletrack. Started out from Natalie Greene Park, which has very limited parking, in Ross, so plan ahead.
Miniature golf! Batting cages! Go-Karts! Video Games! Slurpees! I love summer!
