The real deal, the genuine article, da kine you find and it's yours to hold. The name got me, Victor's Taqueria. I love the name Victor. And they call themselves a taqueria not a restaurant. I love it already. I made a bunch of u turns trying to figure out how to get there. Oh I Yelped it and Eduardo's came up with a higher star count. But I'm in a curious mood today so Victors it is. I tell the lady it's my first time and she suggest the carne asada. I order up two tacos with rice and beans. The beans are perfectly refried and have a wonderfully thin lake of cheese broiled on top. I mix the cheese together with the beans then incorporate some rice into the concoction. The effects on the tongue are so favorable as to induce more hunger. Normally the rice is of minimal interest to me. This rice is on point and somehow I finished it all. The street tacos are on the small side, but there is no complaint registered here. The tacos are one maybe two bites. The meat is chopped steak that is grilled at the last moment then served on two 3 inch tortillas with onions and cilantro. Chips are also served after you order at the counter and they were warm and the salsa tasty. I mixed the hot salsa with the mild to attain a firm bite but no t ears. They still use a bell when the food is put up on the counter. DING! Order up. The woman running the register and serving the food was pleasant and to the point. I am just amazed that this place only is scoring 3.5 stars. I'm sold and will be returning soon. Ummmm yeah.
I have tried the menudo and the cosido. Both were good but not stellar. This place is on the back parking lot of Park n Shop. It is a hidden restaurant for the most part. They are very friendly and attentive. The soup was good and hit the spot, but it lacked an intensity to the flavor of the broth. The meat while being cooked well was still a little bit lacking in flavor. Otherwise a decent representation of the beef soups I've had in the area.
I've been coming here for my burrito fixes about 10 years. Staff is always courteous and mindful. The salsa is usually top notch with flavor of tomatillo and cilantro. I may state that my burrito cravings change as time goes on but this place is my favorite for now. The salsa is tops and continues to amaze me. The cooks are very friendly and come out to speak with us in the sports bar often. Now that is service.
Tacos are a good size and have beans in them. Normally a burrito is the vehicle of choice when you add beans. My son ordered the chicken burrito and said it tasted good and is very juicy. Overall a great eatery if you can get by the divie-ness.
So far pretty nice.
Tortillas by the dozen freshly made. Tamales, chicken soup, beef soup what ever it is they probably have it. Their caldo de res is my favorite in Concord. Taste of the broth is exceptional, and the amount of tender beef included is almost overwhelming. They include cilantro, onion, rice, 3 tortillas and sometimes more. The veggies are cut large and are tender but not mushy. Overall this is a winner by all standards of caldo de res.
Two orders of the Beef soup for dinner today and lunch tomorrow. This is the best cosido (beef soup) I have come across here in the San Jose area. The meat is abundant, flavorful and the broth is rich. Most of all the overall taste is what matters most and that is where it is the star. The tortillas that come with it are usually corn. But I prefer the flour ones. If you order flour tortillas make sure you get them if you are getting it to go. They are so used to providing the corn that it is the default. I always check and usually they have corn in there, so check it before you leave. They will usually include cilantro and onions in the take out order. Call ahead as they take about 15 minutes to make this dish.
Pretty good Menudo and they will customize it to your liking. Tortillas are rewarmed and are of good quality, and the condiments were generous. A good meal once in a while. Tacos are street style and pretty good too.
Sampling of my visits.
Chile Verde burrito wet: The pork chunks are too large, they should smash them up before putting them in the burrito. Green sauce over the burrito was just OK nothing special.
Carne Asada Tacos: Regular small corn tortillas with steak, cilantro, onions and a spicy salsa on top. Pretty good.
Rice: Served warm not hot. Pretty good.
Beans: Standard faire OK
Chips: Sometimes stale: OK
Sals for the chips: Very Good
Flautas: Crispy and have good flavor. Meat inside beef.
Drinks: Bottled soda from Mexico, canned soda.
Overall a pretty nice place to have lunch.
For lunch I ate the super famoso burrito with fresh chips, it is just the right size for lunch. The chips were crisp and warm. The salsa was a little hot but enjoyable. A little cramped for space but altogether enjoyable for a quick lunch. The burrito was chile verde my favorite and the flavor did not disappoint.
I came here for the fish tacos and indeed they are good, but they serve rice and salad not rice and beans. Ok if the rice is good, but in this case the rice is always served room temperature not hot, and the flavor is very mild and lacks garlic and onions. The salad is merely chopped lettuce and 1000 island dressing. I am mostly disappointed with the rice here but the tacos are merely good not great. Still you might have to look long and hard to find a better fish tacos, but they are out there. Fish beware.
The Pupusas are a must try. Very friendly service and the food is good. My Salvadorean friend approved. Had a dinner selection for two. Yuca, beans and carmalized platanos, mmmmm. The Tamarind drink was just the right sweetness, and the Horchata was excellent, and homemade.
The food is actually ok and the place appears to be run well. Haven't been to a Taco Bell in some time. The price was right and I left happy. Not your everyday fair but once in a while it is OK.
Tasty tacos street style but they have a large menu and cover the planet of traditional Mexican fare. They have wonderful authentic menu items like Menudo, Caldo de Res and others. The words I would emphasize about Eduardos' is Authentic. They also have a large studen, and construction employed customers. Hidden behind a large burger place most people probably pass this place bye. I am going ahead and giving it 5 stars based on the fact that they serve up tasty food at fair prices and excel at most of what they do. Can't top that. Lets face it.
