I had a huge craving for some Kbbq and i should have known to not go to a place to specializes in tofu soup. Between my sister and i we ordered Kalbi since they ran out of the spicy pork =( The lunch selection for the banchan sucked. I did however enjoyed the japchae noodles. After a long wait, the meat finally arrived! The meat was good but not worth the $$$. The $16+ dollar lunch special was a little steep in my opinion. If your willingly to drive, i would suggest going to Beque in El Camino for their lunch special. Same portion yet your only paying $11 bucks for the same portion and it's delicous!
3 1/2 stars but I'll round up because their meat pie is AMAZING and i will come back just for that. I've been having a huge addiction to hot pot for a few months now and Little sheep was definitely on my list to try. The broth is very different, not sure if i like it. It's filled with chinese herbs and spices, which i fond to not enjoy every time i tried to grab some veggies from the broth. The menu selection is hugeee-endless meats, veggies, assorted seafood and etc. Between 2 people, i think the bill came out to 30/per person which is EXPENSIVE for hot pot. You really do pay for every little thing here, even down to the sauces. I'm perfectly happy with Japanese hot pot at shabuway! Happy tummy and wallet friendly!
Get the lavender lemonade and fries with harissa and crème fraîche ! Cool, relaxing establishment that serves great happy hour deals. We didn't do much dining here since we we're on a time crunch and just wanted to grab a quick snack+drinks. But I definitely came back here again before ending my trip to get their refreshing lavender lemonade again because it's so addicting and refreshing!!
I love anything I can customize and make my own. $7.95 for a whole pizza that can probably feed 2 people (depending on how hungry you are) is such an steal! I came here recently on a Saturday afternoon and no line whatsoever! =P Yay! The works here are soo nice and give me little tips to make the perfect pizza. I made sure not to go crazy with the toppings because I want my pizza crispy, not soggy. When I want a lot of toppings, I always ask for them for light cheese, meats, veggies etc. They do not skimp here. My pizza consisted of herb butter (I totally recommend this! I tasted marinara+ herb butter together but still prefer only herb butter) light mozzarella, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, a ton of garlic bits (love this!), basil, red onion and light bbq sauce drizzle on top. I managed to finish only half and saved the rest for dinner which I found still delicious. I'm still itching to go back and maybe created another pizza!
I LOVE THEIR GREEN TEA SHAVED ICE WITH MOCHI. It's enough for 3-4 people but I've actually had this plus a crepe+drinks (with a friend of course) and finished everything, hehe. I found this dessert to be refreshing yet not too sweet. I've had their drinks but unfortunately i found them a tad too sweet even when i asked for half the sweetener :( Crepes are good but TOO crunchy and they make it more like a sandwich(I guess it's easier to eat?). I like my crepes soft with crisp ends..minus one star for the super slow service.
Evvia Estiatorio is cute and classy. A great restaurant celebrating any type of occasion. Make sure you make reservations because this place gets crazy crowded even on weekdays. What we ordered:
-Kolokithokeftethes-crispy zucchini cakes with cucumber & mint yogurt: Amazing! This is a must try item.
-Evvia Pita- Wow, this dish really took pita to another level. I loved the caramelized onions!
-Fries-I could not stop eating these! A huge pile of crispy Greek fries with oregano & Greek feta.
-Lamb- A little on the fatty side but nonetheless delicious :) They paired it perfectly with a crispy on the outside but soft on the inside potato wedges. We we're able to add an extra lamb.
-Arnold Palmer- Refreshing. Not gross and artificial tasting.
Service lacked but it wasn't terrible. Our server also had a huge table next to us and I felt like that was his main concentration throughout our dinner. Plenty left over to take home :)
I would totally recommend this place over Ippudo NY. For some reason, luck was on my side during my whole trip to NYC-- wait time for a majority of the restaurants we're no more than 15-20 mins :) I ordered the 'totto spicy ramen' with extra corn and spicy paste on the side. I love everything about this bowl of goodness. The noodles we're nice and chewy, broth had a ton of flavor with a nice spicy kick! Service was quick and the ramen came out fairly quick as soon as you order. My friend and i sat at the bar and i found it really awesome to watch them cook and put the ramen together! Only complaint would be that it's a little stuffy inside the restaurant but other than that, thumbs up!
Although they have messed up my order quite a few times..I always find myself coming back here! The menu here is endless and I always find myself contemplating on what to order every single time. I've had the crepes (Armando is my fav, ask for light sauce!) and the omelets. I also recommend asking to make your potatoes extra crispy! Most dishes come with a refreshing side salad which is surprisingly good. One of my favorite local restaurants I love to visit for a quick bite to eat.
The wait here is unbelievably long but it was worth the wait! Unfortunately i had a huge cut inside my mouth/gums (tacos were a bit spicy!) so i couldn't fully enjoy my tacos :( From what i remember, they were super authentic and made super fresh to order. The workers move quick and make the tacos in front of you. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
This place was over-hyped and a waste of $$$. I was super excited to try this place due to the many recommendations+ yelp and boy was i disappointed :( We made reservations for 2 for 6pm on a random Sunday afternoon.
Between my boyfriend and i, we shared:
-Clam chowder: watery and bland! I was sooooo disappointed because i was looking forward to a nice bowl of hot soup after a chilly day. The clams we're also tiny and chewy.
-Seafood Paella: My first time trying paella. A color dish of seafood galore! BUT...It lacked flavor in my opinion :/
-Garlic mash- Decent, you can't mess this up!
-Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich with toasted pistachios w chocolate sauce: Sounds amazing right? Not so much! The ice cream was rock hard and bland. The chocolate syrup tasted funky and they pretty much randomly sprinkled pistachios everywhere... It was just yucky and that's saying a lot coming from a person who LOVES sweets.
Arnold Palmer- Worse AP we've ever had :/
Not returning anytime soon.
I am a HUGE fan of Tyler Florence so when i found out he had a restaurant in SF- I had to go! Lucky for me, my anniversary was coming up, perfect occasion! :) I loved everything about this restaurant; decor, service, food, even down to super clean and tidy restrooms ;P
What we ordered:
-Oysters- Wow. I'm usually not a fan but my boyfriend forced to me try at least one and it was pretty good! I love the sauces that came along w/ the oysters. (There are around five types of oysters you can choose from)
-Deviled Eggs- A little on the salty side but still a good unique appetizer. Sprinkle a little black pepper!
-Baked Mac 'n cheese- A little too cheesy and rich for my taste. If you love creamy goodness, this will be a great dish for you! I'm still sad they ran out of poutine!!! :(
-Fried chicken- The herbs he uses definitely gives it a different approach the usual fried chicken. Lightly fried on the outside, super moist on the inside. It was good but it wasn't the best (I still found Brenda's fried chicken in SF to be my fav). I did however enjoy the lemon and roasted garlic on the side!
-Coffee cake- AMAZING! The best I ever had! I was contemplating on ordering more but i stopped myself haha
Overall, a great place to dine in SF. Service was awesome from beginning to end.
They made me be an unproportional burger. Taste wise, it was good but the lettuce, tomato, sauce ratio was completely off. My friend's burger on the other hand looked great! By the time i finishd half my burger, i no longer had any letuce or tomato left :/ The best part of the burger was definitely the sweet toasted bun! Overall, nothing spectacular. IN & OUT is still the best in my books!
The first time I had bubbies mochi ice cream was in Hawaii and I haven't gotten about them since. No mochi will ever taste the same after you've tried these! love love love them. A tad bit on the pricey side but well worth it.
Wow, this establishment gets my four stars for location, atmosphere, service and food! I was on a hunt for the best clam chowder and I think I found it! We also got window seating which had the perfect view of the pier from our table! :) The restaurant is super cute and fancy. Between my boyfriend and I, we shared the sourdough clam chowder bread bowl, the red curry mussels and a beer. Both dishes we're amazingggg. The clam chowder- super creamy and filling that pair perfectly well with their warm sourdough bread. Red curry mussels- I'm not a huge seafood gal, but as one bite, yum! They paired it with what seems like toasted garlic bread (they need to include more pieces!). I'll be back!
This is a fantastic happy hour located downtown san jose. My date took me here around 630pm and boy was it already packed!. Luckily we only had to wait around 10 mins before a table opened up :) The HH bar seating area is huge with a ton of tables, a great place to unwind and enjoy delicious happy hour. Between the two of us we shared the tuna sashimi, calamari, load mac and cheese appetizers, Colorado lamb with mint mash, sliced new york pepper steak and a glass of red wine. The portions we're perfect. Out of the bunch, we enjoyed the lamb (cooked perfectly), calamari and mac and cheese the most. I am definitely coming back to try their many HH dishes!
I've passed by this place so many times growing up and had no clue they had a deli inside that served such a variety of dishes. Service here is AWESOME and food comes out fresh. My steak sandwich was a perfect medium and my tomato basil cream sauce ravioli...delicious! I need to try their tri-tip sandwich during my next visit! There's also a full deli and a ton of cheese for you cheese fanatics.
Not my first choice when it comes to thai food but this sure hits the spot when i crave a quick inexpensive meal during my lunch. Spicy green beans, drunken noodles, and the spicy fried rice are among my top favorites. I'm not sure how dine in service is because i always to-go my order, but i found the works to always be very nice and attentive.
A clean, yummy, inexpensive vietnamse restaurant close to home that provides good service? Score! I've had their grilled pork & fried egg rolls over vermicelli noodles, Hu Tieu Nam Vang and their Hu Tieu Ba Nam Sadec (kho), all delicious and made my tummy happy! Their side soup sucks because it always comes out almost room temperature when i want it hot. I've never experience a wait here, even on weekends. The food comes out quickly and they take card! Will def come back to try thier speciality, banh canh cua!
The bf and i made a recent trip to half moon bay and we we're on a search for a yummy place for lunch. Thank you yelp for once again helping me find such a delicious spot. This establishment is soo super cute, a huge yellow train that you cant miss! We decided on the Railroad X-ing(marinated chicken with veggies over rice) and The Cattle Run (Thinly sliced NY strip sandwich). This tops as one of my favorite sandwiches of all time. I really didn't expect anything spectacular but this meal really blew us away, everything was so flavorful and fresh. The portion size was perfect. Enough for both to share and left our tummies satisfied. Service was awesome! I'd recommend to-going your food like us and have lunch on the beach!
We both agreed this meal definitely beat our dinner later that day. It shows to tell you that hole in the walls are so awesome!
Angeline H. and I loved this restaurant so much, we dined here not once but twice during our trip to NYC back in January. This is such an affordable place to grab a quick meal before heading out for the night OR a place to come to after going out because they close around 3am! You can choose individual skewers or order their combos (which i recommend). I am in love with their grilled octopus. Everything here is delicious!!!
After many attempts to dine there, i finally got to check this place out over the weekend. My friend and i we're lucky enough to beat the lunch time rush so no wait time. I had the New Orleans Benedict with potatoes and it was delicious! I found the crab cake to be more on the authentic side compared to Bills cafe's crab cake benedict (more batter/fried). Food came out in a timly manner and the servers we're always quick to re-fill my water. Don't forget to leave a tip at the front with the cashier!
I found this place a great place to dine anytime during the day. The options here are great and you are bound to find something you like. Sweet, savory, healthy, you name it!
A large fresh peperoni and mushroom pizza for only $8 dollars?! I found the pizza to be delicious! They use whole mushrooms which is also a plus. LOVE their garlic seasoning, spicy sauce, and parmesan they provided on the side.
Of course they are more amazing pizzas in NYC but this is great alternative when you want something simple and quick :)
I really wanted to love this sushi restaurant but i didn't. The rolls here are so SMALL! I made reservations for 7pm and the place was already packed as soon as i arrived. Between my friend and i, we shared 3 rolls- I can't remember exact rolls because none of the rolls stood out/memorable. The rolls we're tiny with barely any fish. I usually ALWAYS leave sushi joints full but not here at Fuji. I was comtemplating on ordering a 4th roll but decided to get leave and get dessert down the street. Service was okay, i had a hard time flagging down our waitress for the check. I would suggest going to SenDai in Milpitas!
What a waste of a lunch. The service here sucks and couldn't agree more with the reviews. The place itself is clean and pretty well kept but the employees are slow and unfriendly. I was the only person in line and my food STILL took close to 15 mins+ to make. I planned on eating vegetarian that day so i opted for the tofu veggie stir fry. It was so bland and after a few bites, i threw the rest away. Not coming backk.
This was my first time trying a Ramen joint in SF. I came here on a Saturday morning to a fairly empty restaurant around 11am. I got the spicy miso while my bf got the regular miso. The ramen was disappointing, nothing compares to SJ/San Mateo ramen! The broth was bland, the noodles didn't seem fresh which led me to barely finishing my meal. Still on a mission to find a good ramen restaurant in SF!
I'm not a huge fan of Italian food but this place changed my mind. Reservations are a must and i was able to make them the day of.
The restaurant is cute and i fell in love instantly. It's a family feel type of atmosphere. A great place to bring family or even a date and enjoy real authentic Italian food. They had live music during our dinner which i found really cool. The bus boys and servers we're constantly checking up on us, refilling our waters and bringing us more bread. Oh and THE BREAD, amazing!!!!! I'm not a bread type of person but their warm french bread + their olive oil with herbs was so tasty, i had to have seconds! I could eat this all dayy but i had to stop myself :( For our appetizer we ordered the calamari, decent but not worth it 12 bucks. I could do without this dish.
Mushroom ravioli- Everything about this dish i love. The white sauce they paired with this dish was super tasty and flavorful.
Penne con pollo- My bf's dish which he seemed to enjoy very much. I had a few bites and it's was super good! The sauce wasn't too heavy yet it had a nice flavorful kick.
We had a ton of leftovers and definitely enjoyed it the next day! :)
This restaurant is really modern, clean and nicely decorated. Dined here Thursday night and the place was packed, make sure you make resos on yelp! The food here is superr fresh and yummy. Between the bf and i, we shared the hawaiian teriyaki skirt steak, three taco platter with spicy fries and sweet potato, a side of wakame salad and an arnold palmer (best I've ever had). They were so nice and split our meals for us :) I would highly recommend everything. Portions are deliciously huge because we found ourselves struggling to finish our food. I love that they do substitutions/ mix and match! Oh and they have sriracha for you sriracha lovers!
Yes the portions here are ginormous but I'm more quality over quantity type of person especially when it comes to my meals. The restaurant itself was interesting as soon as you walked in, perfect place to bring family and kids. The service was very welcoming (almost too happy lol), the menu was extensive and the food came out quick. The only thing it lacked was quality..the food tasted just okay to me. The orange juice was good but it was room temperature... i like my OJ cold/chilled! My Joe's scramble was bland, but i did however enjoy my angry potatoes- something i would recommend everyone to get!!! You cant go wrong with seasoned potatoes, melty cheese and jalapenos topped with sour cream :) I had brioche french toast as my second side- we both agreed the french toast was too thick and dense. My bf got the NY omelet, hash-browns and buttermilk pancakes as his side-pancakes we're delish! His scramble was so big, it looked like he barely put a dent in that thing! He seemed to enjoy his meal but felt too stuffed to finish it all. We took the rest home as leftovers and left completely full and uncomfortable =P I don't think I'll be back unless I'm in the area. My favorite breakfast brunch joint will always be Bills cafe!
This ramen joint was such a disappointment :( Luckily my party of five beat the dinner rush and made it after only a 20 min wait! Awesome! The decor was modern and nice, service was spot-on. Everyone was friendly and very upbeat. We started off with the pork buns and boy we're they DELICIOUS! Now on to the main course, akamaru ramen. I expected the ramen to be mind-blowing but it was just okay and a majority of my party agreed. The broth was good but i didn't enjoy the overcooked SKINNY noodles and overly fatty pork pieces :( I also felt like my ramen was swimming in pools of oil. For $15+ bucks, over 4,000 reviews, i was a bit bummed out. i completely recommend Totto Ramen if your debating to choose between the two restaurants.
Eveything about this place I LOVE! Ambiance, food, service, prices and etc. Angeline H. and i made sure to make our way to Room Service during our NYE trip in January. Hands down one of the best thai restaurants I've ever eaten at! Between the two of us, we ordered a ton of food :) Calarmari (must get this!) , drunken noodles, spicy basil noodles, tofu basil, red curry with brown rice, and an eggplant dish. Everything was yummy! I washed it down with some delicious thai tea while she ordered a blueberry mojito which she enjoyed very much. The service was a bit slow in the beginning but it quickly picked up as soon as our drinks finally arrived. This was probably the least expensive meal in NYE yet one of the best during our trip. The left overs at night and the following morning tasted just as good! :D
I think i found my new Kbbq joint for lunch! The restaurant itself was clean, spacious the food def hit the spot! Between my sister and i, we ordered the kalbi (10.99) and the spicy marinated pork (9.99). I actually had kbbq lunch a week ago at a different restaurant and the kalbi cost me 17 bucks!! The portions here we're huge and had plenty of leftovers for dinner :) Banchan was also yummy, love the kimchi and potatoes! Ventilation system was awesome, service was okay. I am definitely coming back here!
