In a city of amazing flavors this place is a standout. Ordered takeaway- it was ready really quickly- 20 minutes during height of dinner hour during the week . Lentil soup was great. The app combo was a little 'blended' into one mass...probably from delivery trauma, not sure it was tasty enough to order again, it was a little oily and nothing was as much of a 'wow' as the other orders' flavors. The chicken bastilla was heavy, enough to share for 2 or 3. Chicken Tagine, & Chicken couscous w/onions & almonds each were really tasty- arrived hot, very large portions. Tagine was a half breast and wing (I think) sooo tender, still eating leftovers. Chicken couscous was loaded with white meat/boneless, but a really thick bed of couscous made the entree a little bit drier than I would have liked. Bread that came with apps might have been warm at start so this may be one thing better enjoyed at the restaurant, but even cold, they were large and good. Definitely a satisfying choice.

we had the beef couscous, chicken tagine, and their salad trio and everything was so delicious! I'm Moroccan and I was so happy to get traditional, delicious tasting food at such a good price. Service was amazing and the food was even better. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Very authentic chicken tagine, tastes just like what I had in Morocco, with bone in chicken and lots of onions and olives. My favorite dish by far

This place is awesome! The chicken bastilla starter was amazing! For dinner we had the lamb tagine, chicken tagine, lamb kebab meghdour and some sort of kefta. It was all super delicious! Plus the hot mint tea was so good, we ordered seconds! This was our second time eating there and we will definitely go back!

This place is 4 stars as much for the experience and then the food. I had never had Moroccan food before and I thought the dishes were those I have never come across before. I was excited to try them. My husband and I had chicken Bastilla, royal kebab and chicken ragine. My husband commented that the food was sweet (Bastilla and tagine) ,but we are south Asian and we are too used to eating spicy food. I am not sure if Moroccan food is supposed to be spicy(with chilis) but I appreciate the fruits and nuts flavor in the food. I actually enjoyed the kebabs more than the chicken tagine. I felt that the chicken could have used a lift in flavor, maybe chop the olives into the sauce rather then put them over it. There wasn't enough flavor in it. Kebabs were much better than those you get at Pakistani /indian restaurants, in my opinion. At the end of all of this, we finished all of the food and enjoyed the experience of trying them. No complaints for cleanliness and waiter (I think he is the owner) was attentive.

Lovely, peaceful oasis of calm, great place to have an early dinner with a woman friend on Thursday evening. Warm, friendly and kind service. I enjoyed the mint tea, served in small ornate glasses. The tea was poured from a few feet above the glass by the server in a virtuoso display. We shared an appetizer of three salads which were quite good and beautifully presented. I especially liked the eggplant salad. My friend has lamb chops and loved them, and I had chicken tagine which was good. I wish it came with more couscous and vegetables.

The appetizer, Salad trio, was the best part of our table. I expected more flavor in the Chicken Tagine. Also have tried the beef maghdoor which had a great sauce but some pieces were chewy. Service was fine.

Revisited here for dinner. We shared the salad platter and chicken bastilla. Both were great especially the bastilia. It was so good that we ordered a second.
For my meal, I decided I would have the lamb shank tagine with peas. This time I found the very flavorful. The lamb shank was cooked perfectly that it fell off the bone. My bestie ordered the chicken tagine which was also very flavorful. I enjoyed both dishes.
I am happy to have come back after the years as Aicha is really a great neighborhood Moroccan gen. -

We had a great dinner at Aicha! Affordable, delectable food served in no-nonsense fashion. We began our meal by sharing a chicken bastilla, which was excellent. We also ordered the assorted olives as an app. Tasty. The main courses for our group were two lamb tagines (one with peas/carrots and the other with almonds and prunes), a chicken tagine and chicken kebab. All four meals were well-prepared, well-seasoned and enjoyable. We brought our own wine and enjoyed it with our meal. The atmosphere is not rushed, but the service is prompt and attentive. We will be back!

Yes I liked it!
The bastilla had great flavor, mint tea just slightly sweet the way I like it, and the chicken tagine was lemony and perfect.
Oh and did I mention that the waiter was darling and attentive?
A nice meal in an unassuming little restaurant in the Tendernob. This is my kind of place....War dieser Beitrag …?

Delivery arrived within 30 minutes, despite the estimate being 45-75 minutes! Loved the Kabab plate and the chicken bastilla... the bastilla is delicious and smells of honey as soon as you open the package! The Zaalook was nice but seemed like it was missing something--perhaps they forgot to put pita in our bag. We just got some crackers out of our cabinets and ate it on the crackers. :) I'll skip the Chicken Tagine next time--not too interesting.

This is as close as is gets to Morocco without the pesky travel. Chef/owner from the old country. I try something different every time I come here. Appetizers are killer!! Lamb and chicken tagine are the house specialties. The lunch special is a deal at $9.99.

A pleasant experience. The interior is nicely decorated. Ethnic music plays softly in the background. The plates/bowls are really nice; the flatware is high quality and will not bend on you. I ordered chicken tagine off the lunch menu ($9.99) with a side of rice. The dark meat was perfect, the white meat a tiny bit dry. It was a beautiful presentation with the exact amount of sauce I would have served myself. I would have also have liked dried fruit and cilantro with my tagine, but that's just me. Lentil soup comes with lunch. It was a great interpretation of lentil soup. It's worth walking an extra block or two to enjoy this restaurant (I walked up from Golden Gate Ave.). "Aicha" means "I love tea" in Chinese, if that helps you remember the name.

A really nice, intimate place. We started with the bastilla appetizer -- it's chicken, cinnamon, puff pastry. Just get it, don't think twice. We got a lamb tagine and chicken tagine -- also super tasty. It's a BYOB place -- the Leffe Blonde I brought in paired really well with the food. Merci beaucoup, Aicha!

After trying some pretty authentic and amazing Moroccan restaurants, I was highly disappointed by Aicha.
I apologize in advance for the 1 star review, but I really just expected a lot more of it. Let's start with service. This DEFINITELY needs some work. From the moment we were seated, the girl server that was our waitress the entire meal just seems PISSED OFF. She was hesitant to answer questions and had the "I want to kill someone" face. While ordering, I asked her if it was possible to substitute chicken in the lamb tagine, since I liked the peas and the potato in the lamb tagine and she turned me down brutally, not at all willing to accommodate. After the food was served to us, she literally didn't come to check up again to see how we were or if we needed to-go boxes. I actually had to walk up and tell the guy in the kitchen (who seemed like the owner or the manager) that we need the check. Just awful service.
As for the food, this also needs some work. I may be a little biased, but I had such good Moroccan food, especially at Kous Kous in San Diego , that what I had here was not even at all comparable. The chicken tagine didn't taste very Moroccan and was not served in a tagine, but rather just a regular plate. The flavors were off and the chicken seemed dry. We also ordered the mint tea, beef kabob, and the salad trio. My favorite was definitely the salad trio that came with a little of everything: platter of Zaalouk , Taktouka and Carrots a la Chermoula. This and the mint tea were great starts to the meal until the meat dishes came and I was highly disappointed by both. The beef kabob, although better than the chicken tagine, was also drier than expected and just not that great in general.
The only reason I dined here was because I was visiting someone who stayed at a hotel 1 block away. Will I be coming back? I think you know the answer to that already.War dieser Beitrag …?

TIP #1: Portions are large! Very share-able.
TIP #2: Eat here if you love big, bold flavors without the excess grease and salt.
My boyfriend and I found this restaurant on Yelp when we were looking for somewhere different to meet up for lunch. After just one visit, I'm confident that Aicha will become a regular on our rotation. Here's why.
Our waitress was helpful and courteous. We ordered the pastille appetizer on her recommendation, and we were not disappointed, despite not knowing what a pastille was. My chicken tagine was delicious--the meat was decadent, falling off the bone, and well-seasoned. I was given a plate with at least half a chicken! My boyfriend's lamb tagine had less meat but was equally tender and flavorful. The saffron rice was really tasty and the hearty portion complimented our meat dishes.
The most amazing part, for me, was that I didn't feel heavy and lethargic after the meal, despite the emphasis on meat and sauce. That really speaks to the quality of the meat, as well as the skills of the chef and cooks in building flavor without over-salting. And I had leftovers to enjoy later, to boot!
Looking forward to coming back.War dieser Beitrag …?

I went here for lunch on a Saturday. It was absolutely deserted when we got there, and the atmosphere was a little strange, however the food was great! We got the lunch special chicken kebabs and a chicken tagine, and both were really delicious.

I tried Aicha while traveling through San Francisco this past weekend. This was my first time experiencing Moroccan food. The seating area was a little small, the ambiance was beautiful, very clean, well decorated and overall very pleasant. It got rather busy after we walked in which was a surprise because it was a Sunday night. My husband and I ordered two appetizers that were recommended by the server, the B'stilla and the salad trio. Both were so delicious we cleaned our plates and we were excited to try our main course. He ordered the lamb tagine and I ordered the chicken tagine. Both were so succulent, tender, very well seasoned and just amazing. We had no problems finishing our dinner plates as well. We plan to visit Aicha again during our next trip to San Francisco. I'm getting hungry just thinking of their food...
