I caught a cold...this SUX.  I am such a baby when I am sick.  Feel sorry for poor me.  I need my Mommy.  A friend told me to drink some honey and vinegar.  YUCK.  What else can I do....

zinc works well if you take it at the first sign of a cold. That's the active ingredient in Cold Eeze lozenges. Astragulus is supposed to boost the immune system. Personally I think a clean diet, a multi vitamin and plenty of rest is best.

    Marie K. says:

Try this:  hot water, honey, lemon juice, whiskey, a piece of fresh ginger, a little bit of salt, a little bit of cayenne.  My boyfriend made this for me, and it was very soothing.

Also, if you don't have those ingredients, order some hot & sour soup from a Chinese place that delivers.

    Take care... :)

I always get hot and sour soup when I have a cold.  I swear it works.  SO +1!

Similar to what others have said : HUGE cup with some strong chai tea, a heaping spoon (or more) of LOCAL honey, half a lemon juiced, and a healthy bit of peach brandy.   Not only is it delicious but it helps tons (and makes you drowsy enough to slepp if you put enough brandy in)

Other than that, yea to the hot and sour soup.  Long hot baths, and spend the day in bed.

Nothing rids you of a cold faster than a coma.  Try and get your hands on some Prometh.  It's like Nyquil on steroids.

Garlic soup.  Take a 3-4 cups of chicken broth, about half a head of garlic.  Peel all the garlic, add to the chicken broth and cook with the lid on til garlic gets very soft.  Add one beaten egg and some gratings of romano cheese.  Eat - take some advil - go to bed.

    All better!

I usually make myself a toddy like Marie K described, except fairly strong (1.5 shots in it), take ibuprofen, and put on warm jammies and go to bed. That'll make you pass out and if you sweat, it's good.

Depending on how sick you're feeling... Yin Chao.
Otherwise, drink as many fluids as you can. Juice over soda. Water and tea. Lots of water.

I do the hot and sour soup routine and it works great, especially if you have congrestion.

I did read somehwere that Sexy time releases endorphins and other goodies to make you feel better. Only problem is: when I'm sick,I'm so miserable and funky looking, *I* wouldn't even wanna phuck *me*
