    Taking inspiration from Chris L.'s and GG-B's threads...
    What's your favorite movie scene making use of the movie's motion picture soundtrack?

    Mine would be Gas Station scene from Reality Bites, cast singing along to My Sharona.
    my girlfriend wants me to include hers which is John Cusack with the boombox over his head playing "In your eyes" in the movie "Say Anything"

    timelapse... imho it's done better in requiem for a dream, in several scenes, specifically:

    - when the mom is tweaked out on speed, cleaning the house
    - when she's walking down the street in slow mo while everyone else around her is buzzing past

    powerful use of the method.

    question - what's the term for when a single shot follows the characters without any edits? i love when directors do that. i've seen it a few times - first time being in Pulp Fiction. there was also a lot of that in season 4 of entourage.

    hey raj, it just is what it is, a single long shot. the name only changes depending on other factors... in goodfellas it's a handheld shot, in exorcist 3 it's a static shot, in children of men it's a bunch of tricks and lies, haha (gimble in the car scene with a lot of crazy moving around out of frame, and handheld with a bunch of cg stitches for the final scene)

    Ocean's 12 when Toulouse/Nightfox tells his story, and the process is shown on how he stole the Coronation Egg and everything just to find out he was duped! The track is by La Caution and it's called Thé À La Menthe or Mint for Tea. It was actually suggested that they use the track by Vincent Cassel himself as he is heavily influenced in French Hip-Hop (which is amazing and I highly suggest you give it a go). In the movie soundtrack however, they only use the instrumental and not the full lyrical version.

    Laser Dance:
    youtube.com/watch?v=1_vf…

    Note: non really. it's a down ass scene! =)

    La Caution - Thé À La Menthe:
    youtube.com/watch?v=Wk67…

    Note; Lyrically, it's inspiring and simply amazing. Hi-Tekk (or the second emcee's verse) is convincing at first play through his conviction in his voice and message he gets across. I can relate and sympathize probably being the reason why I connect with him more. His use of imagery and comparison to French/Arab culture and roots is simply astounding and makes for a great second verse. He's the "harder" of the two so putting his verse in the middle made sense. Also, props to Nikkfurie as his verses were also nothing less than above average. Note how their culture is represented not only lyrically, but through imagery, showing customs practiced by their culture.

    Damn I might just watch Trainspotting again this weekend.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I watched it last night, I was about to put this down.  The soundtrack to that movie is great.  One of my all-time favorites.
    I also like the opening credits to Casino when Ace gets his car blown up, it's operetta (too lazy to look it up)
    My Best Friend's Wedding - Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight" from the scene where Jules and Michael are together, alone, before he gets married on a boat taking a tour of the Chicago harbor.
    "Black Tambourine" By Beck in INLAND EMPIRE.
    It's in the climax of the movie which is highly disturbing, and that song comes on...it adds to the paranoia.
    Perfection.
    Okay I just thought of another one - Huey Lewis and the News "Hip to be Square" when Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) is chopping up Jared Leto in AMerican Psycho.
