Wow, he's like a one man show.
He changed my oil, replaced my rear brakes and rotors, *and* fixed my wonky hood that was scraping the fender every time I opened it. No charge on the hood fix, because Kwon is the man!
Low prices too. No upselling or replacing junk you don't need.
I highly recommend Proshred. In 2 hrs, they shredded about 200 hard drives for us in an industrial grade grinder. Pricing is straightforward and based on volume. I found them to not only be cheapest, but the best in the bay area. And nice professional people to boot.
They come on-site with an industrial grinder in their truck and let you watch their destruction. This was hugely important to us. Most other companies we talked to would ship your HDs to another location for destruction, which for me was not acceptable. Some companies would take shortcuts like drilling HDs instead of destroying them, or simply degaussing the HD platters rather than destroying them. None of these methods are good enough when you need 100% peace of mind.
These guys are worth visiting. I dropped by without appointment.
Told him my check engine light was on, mechanic dropped what he was doing and immediately ran the OBDII scanner on my car. Evap code he says. Leave car with them, I sign off on $99 to run some diagnostics.
They call me few hrs later, come get your car. No charge. Faulty gas cap.
Now they could have just taken my $99, but they didn't. Stand up guys who value customer service and don't nickel and dime you for simple stuff.
I'm writing this about 9 mos late, but...
So our family is down in LA and we chance upon this diner in Glendale. Never heard of it, but we're hungry for dinner so why not.
Turns out great! Zucchini bread was great, service was fine, salmon, and lamb chops were perfect.
You know how I gauge how good a restaurant is? When 9 mos later, the only thing my kids remember from that trip is eating at Shakers.
Decided I was gonna reupholster my dining chairs myself, because how hard could this be right?
Huge selection of upholstery fabric, way more than Jo-Ann Fabrics by a longshot. And the staff was great.
My only knock on them is the upholstery pattern selection. A majority leaned toward flowery olive/gold/brown, which is great for grandma's 14th century Victorian dining set, but not so great for me. I prefer dark neutral color tones with subtle texture for depth, and they had limited options. Luckily I still found something in pure black with basic textured lines. Good enough!
They also only seem to carry 3"-7" thick foam. Not sure why because when I eat dinner, I don't want to be in a high chair. 1-2" is plenty. But they do carry poly batting in every thickness (the stuff to add loft to your cushion so it plumps up the upholstery fabric).
So yeah, great place to rummage around looking for cool fabrics. And the prices were great.
We stay here from time to time. Pretty consistently happy. As I read some of the complaints, I realize you cheapskates need my help to do this right.
Pro tip 1 -- park on the street. Free parking is always available on the La Jolla Village Dr side next to parking lot. I never had any trouble finding parking at any hour.
Pro tip 2 -- free wifi is provided in the lobby, by the pool, and in the bar. You're lazy and want wifi in room? In that case, shut up and pay the $9 in-room fee. Cuz free wifi is EVERYWHERE in the hotel except your room. Please, how many selfies do you need to upload to FB every hour anyway?
Now let me tell you what makes this hotel different than others, at any price. You can actually sleep at night because:
1) the air conditioner motor is NOT in your room. It is super quiet when on.
2) the bathroom vent motor is NOT in your room. I cannot even tell when it's on.
I also like their small "Stay Fit" free gym. The equipment is all high end Life Fitness stuff and it's never crowded. About 10 steppers/treadmills and another 6 weight machines, and full set of free weights. Free towel service too.
Quality over quantity. That's the reason to stay here.
I agree, these guys are swell. Emailed them about repairing my front wheel spoke, thinking maybe they'll reply in a few days. Wrong. Chris (the owner) responded in under 60 secs!
We exchanged a few pictures of my busted wheel, he contacted wheel manufacturer to get parts, and I got my wheel back in a timely manner for a very reasonable price.
Easy parking, front desk was helpful, did not have to wait long, PA/PT guys were good.
It's 6pm. You are injured seriously enough and can't wait til next week for PCP. Yet you aren't gonna die and don't wanna spend 5-8 hrs waiting in ER. That's where Concentra fits in. Open early, open late. For that alone they get 5 stars. Who is willing to see you at 7am or 6pm without appointment? Exactly. Just be glad they exist.
If you wanna learn drums, Shaun is the man.
He's a patient teacher who's great at gauging progress so you learn new stuff each week without getting too flustered. The other reviewers are right. It's his personality that makes him awesome. My kid loves going to lessons.
His studio has a parking lot and is 1 block from I-280 Geneva exit. Bring your own sticks, he provides everything else.
Dr. Nguyen is awesome! Friendly, great with kids. Whole family been seeing her for years. Also, her new office manager Annie knows how to run a tight ship. Smooth sailing as soon as you step inside, with everything explained clearly.
