I really liked the salsa, kinda spicy....just the way i like it. My boyfriend had the veggie special, and thought it was really good (he said it was filling, but didn't make him feel too stuffed).I of course had fajitas(because i always do)and they were tender and flavorful, good tortillas, but i didn't care for the beans and rice. They are 24 hours which is always nice,we went in around 9pm and it was a little busy....the service was pretty slow, and we never got refills offered... pretty much i would say that the food wasd good, the service was lame , for me = an ok visit.
First of all i can't emphasize enough how excited i was to see my favorite band THE SWORD, for only 9 bucks.....and also get to be so close to the stage, but i must complain about the line situation...i purchased will-call tickets two months before the show, and still ended up standing in line for wayyyyy too long, the lines were poorly organized and not marked...the whole situation was really lame, plus i ended up missing part of THE SWORD's set due to the extremely long lines/walk from one line to the next (once we finally figures out that will-call was a different line)...hopefully by next year they will have worked out all the kinks!
Don't get me wrong, the museum isn't horrible, but it is seriously understaffed, poorly maintained, and kinda dirty....my son really loved a few of the exhibits, especially the outdoor water attractions and power play area, but compared to other childrens museums we have been to it wasn't very good. Overall it would be really great if they just had more staff cleaning, helping the kids, and doing repairs on all the broken activities....P.S. do not go on the free thursdays(i think 5-8pm) unless you want to be seriously squished by massive crowds of people!
the best grass fed beef fajitas on earth(or at least houston)....the beef was sooooo... tender and yummy, a little pricey,$16 for a half order(enough for one person easy) and i think $29 for a full order...but well worth it! great drinks too!
first of all i don't even want to think about how unhealthy this stuff is,it is so super delicious and rich that i know it is not good for you, but when you are in the mood for something frozen and freakin' awesome, this is the place you should try!!! to add a little more fat and and sugar to the mix try the strawberry cheesecake "concrete" (mixed)....and they have a drive thru that is open until 10:30pm....yayyy!!!!
this place was exactly what i was looking for when my mom flew in from california last week...very "texas/country" themed bbq, everything we sampled was actually great, but my son did say the bbq sauce was "very stinky" ,sorry, just had to throw that in there....we had good brisket, chicken, sausage, pulled pork, baby back ribs, beans, baked potatoes, and bread while we were there(and we had enough left over for the next day too) i am sure there are better places for bbq in the area, but overall this place was really good, and the service was absolutely amazing(i was a server for 6 years, so i am a little hard to impress)....oh yeah good drinks too!!
If you have a child that hates going for a haircut, this is the place for you!!! My son cried and screamed every time i got his haircut (for 5 years!!!), and now he begs me to take him to get his haircut!
they let the child pick a dvd to watch or a game to play, and they have xbox 360's , enough said!
if you are looking for a friendly, kind, considerate vet in houston, this is it! every single person that works there is extremely friendly and informed....they even remembered me and my dog on our second visit! i personally have never seen a dog get shots and not whimper, but somehow the dr. did some little pinch trick in combination with a treat, and my daschund didn't even notice! i actually have a vet right down the street from me, but they have been so great to us that i drive about 5 miles each way just to go to them(i know that it isn't very green of me, but in my defense i recycle, i don't use plastic water bottles, and i carry my own shopping bags! :) ..
the best bathrooms in seattle!!! The ladies room is pink, and covered with vintage cutouts, does it get any better than that? good drinks, clean bar(and extremely clean bathrooms),friendly bartenders, great view of the stage(very open)and a really relaxed fun vibe...plus they have the best red velvet wallpaper ever!
overall, the showbox is one of the best venues in seattle for live music. usually pretty damn clean, short lines for the bar, decent bathrooms, and good views of the stage from just about everywhere! if you are willing to pay a little extra, you can park right next to the building(p.s. they are small parking spaces, and a limited number of them)....plus it faces the public market, so it definitely is a must see while in seattle!
