I need to start off by saying I that I love and hate this place.
The food is awesome so there is a chance I will be back. I had their margherita pizza and it was outstanding. The sourdough crust was chewy and their ingredients tasted fresh. It was probably one of my favorite pizzas I have ever had.
But, I absolutely hate how crowded the grocery store is and how difficult it is to stand in line to order. However, I do like the items they have in the store.
Don't think you will find a parking spot. There is valet available in the evening but not for lunch. Plus, then you have to pay for parking (ie. tip the valet).
It is such a production just trying to get the food that I had to knock the review down to three stars. But, if you don't mind the effort, the food is great!
I occasionally enjoy BBQ but it needs to have a great smokey flavor, good BBQ sauce, and not a lot of fat incorporated into the meat. Bobby Q delivers! It looks like a dive bar on the outside but the inside has a very nice atmosphere. The tables are spacious, it's very clean, and they play good country music :) Even better, our waitress provided exceptional service. I had the beef brisket sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese. The beef brisket was so tender that it falls apart and the mac and cheese was an indulgence that was worth the calories! I enjoyed the spicy BBQ sauce on top of my sandwich. It has a nice kick but isn't too spicy that it takes away from the flavor of the brisket. My husband had a combo rib plate (baby back ribs & St. Louis ribs) which he enjoyed a lot. He liked the St. Louis ribs a bit more than the baby backs because they were meatier and not as marbled as he had expected. He also loved the mac & cheese and the garlic mashed potatoes. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The Mission is wonderful! The ambiance is amazing .... it's dimly lit with beautiful chandeliers and great architecture. My husband and I dined here for my birthday and we had a great experience. The host was extremely attentive upon arrival and our waiter, Sam, was amazing! He thoroughly knew the menu and explained everything to us page by page.
We started our meal with fresh guacamole made at our table. It was outstanding and they make it as spicy as you would like. Hubby had a really nice malbec with his Chimmichurri Marinated Hanger Steak and a side of green beans. I had the primarita margarita with Tecate Skirt Steak tacos and a side of the creamy chipotle grits. The presentation of the food was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. Cannot say enough about the wonderful food, ambiance, and service!
This is a great place for Thai food. I went there last week with my husband and his parents. Three of us ordered different curries and my husband ordered the spicy noodles. We all enjoyed our meals. I ordered mine as a 3 on the heat scale and it was perfect. Spicy, but yet I could taste the flavors of the red curry dish. The restaurant itself is small and in a strip mall but it is very clean. The staff gets an A+ for being attentive. The only thing I was a little annoyed about is that we received one dish for the rice between 3 of us and were charged for additional rice. Overall, I will be returning for some great thai food!
My husband and I decided to venture down to Mill Ave to spend a Thursday evening and had a pretty good experience at Caffe Boa. I have been to Caffe Boa a few times in their old location and always loved their food. The new location has great ambiance and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server, Garrison (I think), was great. He provided great service, was pleasant, and always kept our drinks full (always a sign of an attentive server). The food was good, but not as great as I remember. We started with the heirloom caprese and we really enjoyed it and would recommend it. Our entrees consisted of the Rigatoni Puttanesca and Pici di Tropea (a fairly spicy dish). The entrees were smaller than I remember, especially for the price. However, we would probably return to Caffe Boa and try different dishes.
Cute, little park :) The hubby and I spent hours playing frisbee, reading, relaxing, and playing with our dog. Nice grassy areas with lots of shade from pine trees. The park was peaceful but yet had plenty of action. There were families playing soccer, couples just relaxing, and people eating at several picnic tables available. A great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Had a great day at Thorpe park with my husband and our golden retriever. There is a lot to do and we really enjoyed the hiking trails. Very well maintained park and trails. The park is away from traffic and the smell of pine is terrific. Definitely recommend if you are an outdoor enthusiast.
Yum! This place is adorable. It's resembles a trendy diner and I loved the concept. It's easy to place your order at the register upon entering the restaurant. There were lots of people bellied up to the counter enjoying their lunch plus there were plenty of tables to sit at.
I had the Classic Grilled Cheese ($4.50) and a cup of tomato soup ($2.50). The grilled cheese had the perfect amount of cheese and was grilled to perfection. The tomato soup was outstanding and my favorite part of the meal. Cannot wait to go back and have it again. I also like the deli pickle slices they give with the meal and the gentleman that served my sandwhich was more than willing to fetch me a side of dijon mustard. Thanks!
Will be back again soon!
My husband and I visited Jalapeno Inferno for lunch last weekend and were not very impressed. The restaurant and the patio are nice looking but the food was not as appealing.
The salsa and chips were "okay." I wasn't a fan of the chips. I know that many people do but I found the texture to be similar to "Cinnamon Twists" at Taco Bell. I prefer crispier chips. But, my husband was a fan so I guess it's just personal preference.
My husband had the Hatch Green Chile Enchiladas and I had the Anaheim Chile Relleno Platter. I did not like my meal. I could only eat a few bites of the Chile Relleno but I did enjoy my rice and beans. My husband enjoyed his enchiladas but they were not as hot as advertised since they are listed under the "some like it hot" portion of the menu.
They main reason I am giving this restaurant two stars is because of the lack of service. We rarely saw our waitress and the restaurant did not appear busy. She never asked if we needed anything and never refilled our water or beverages. She took our order, dropped off our bill, but never provided any service in between those two events.
A friend and I had lunch at The Herb Box today after checking out the reviews on Yelp. The restaurant is charming and located in the beautiful DC Ranch area.
We sat on the patio which was nicely cooled with misters. Our service was very good. It was a Sunday afternoon and there was a good crowd but we were greeted and served promptly. Our waitress checked on us regularly and we always had our tea and water glasses filled (which I think is always a sign of good service).
I had the Coconut Shrimp Salad and my friend had the Butternut Squash Enchiladas. We both enjoyed our meals. My salad had a lot of flavor and was very fresh. The presentation of the food was beautiful, too.
The menu is diverse but a little pricier than a typical lunch. However, the food and atmosphere was worth it.
Will definitely be back.
