Took the intro class with Jorge. He was a great instructor and very patient and kind. Although my glass turtle ended up looking like a blob, I had a good time. If you want to find out how to do this take the class with Jorge! You won't be disappointed.
ok food and drink- HORRIBLE hostess! 1st claimed they were not having happy hour, then tried to seat us at table in full sun and claimed all other vacant tables in patio were reserved. Then inside sat us at small very poorly placed table and when we asked about being seated at another table (no tables in the dining room were being used) she told us they were ALL reserved. We opted to go to the bar where a very nice bartender named Jake gave us the HAPPY HOUR menu and served us good drinks and food off the HAPPY HOUR menu! We drank and ate for about an hour - gave the bartender a very nice tip and looked around to find that many of the "reserved" tables were STILL VACANT. What an insult to us - I recommend that you find another place that does not scrutinize their customers and treat them like lower class citizens. I would not go here AGAIN. No one deserves treatment like that. You can take your Carmel attitude away from me. I have no use for this place.
Went there at 7:30 on a Weds. Was told there would be a 25 min wait to be seated. Asked the hostess about the section of at least 5 tables that were set up but vacant. She stated "We don't have a server for that section". We left, wondering how long a business that employs such practices will be around. Coming soon, Tommy's House of Tofu????
This is a great place. The ribs and the brisket were smoked to perfection! The german potato salad was good and the mac and cheese to die for. Generous portions and great selection of beer on tap. If you like GOOD BBQ hurry in here for fabulous food. The owner Dan was very very nice and we loved our lunch.
WE'LL BE BACK!
Very unpleasant experience. I had purchased a GROUPON for mani/pedi and called ahead to make appointment. I arrived at appointment time and was told to pick a color and directed to sit one of the spa chairs. I sat there for 20 minutes while the technicians worked on other clients. They did not fill the tub with water nor acknowledge me in any way. I almost walked out and I regret not doing so.
The pedicure was quick and and the man doing it cut my cuticle with an instrument. He did not bother to paint the ends of my toe nails. Probably the worst pedicure ever.
But compared to manicure - it was great! The woman who did my manicure appeared to be very uniterested in what she was doing. She did not even file my nails on my right hand - she just soaked them (after spilling water on me) and pushed my cuticles a little. The clear polish she used peeled off the next day. The hand massage was pathetic with no attention being paid to what she was doing. She was looking away and watching the TV. I felt as if I was not even there.
If this nail shop does not want to accept GROUPONS they should not offer them.
I was treated badly and want all to know what type of service you can expect when you go here.
Went here on a Friday night early - service was very very very slow. The temperature in the restaurant was FREEZING! The wait staff did not know what they were doing. They ran around without waiting on us for at least 20 minutes. Our waitress told us it was her 1st day. The food was decent but expensive, especially for Concord. The bill was almost $150 for two and we only had one bottle of wine for $38.
A walk through the kitchen to get to the dark dreary restroom was the last straw. I won't be going back. There are much better places to go nearby.
Mediocre at best. We went to Sunday Brunch and the food was really nothing special and most of it was lukewarm some of it even cold. The bacon and the sausages were underdone, the meatballs with the pasta were tough and the desserts were downright bad. The location of the buffet in the bar is crowded and hard to manuver through, and it all backs up at the omlet station in the back. Do yourself a favor and and save your money.
I have been going here for a few years. The service has been spotty at best but last night I went and was extremely disappointed. Even though I made an appointment I waited at least 1/2 hour to be worked on. The pedicure was ok but nothing special, the manicure was not much better. I was in there from 4:30 to almost 7 pm.
The workers here do not seem too happy and they all talk to each other in thier language but seldom do they talk to you. As I sat waiting - I took a good look around and noticed how dirty the place was. In the waxing room the same old sheet is on the table from two years ago. There was a smear of polish on the wall that had been wiped off partially and the rest of the place is in various stagnes of disaray. I am thinking need to find a new and cleaner place.
Our recent visit was possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. Service was slow and off, food was cold and bun on hamburger was more than stale, it was hard.
Burger was broken into two pieces and way overcooked (no one asked how I wanted it done) Someone arrived at our table delivering our side of fries which we did not order - and looked at us as if we were crazy when we looked bewildered.
The manager came over and gave us a long song and dance about how the corporation is great and personall oversaw the redoing of my burger and IT WAS WORSE than the 1st one. They did not charge us for the burger but I will likely never go here again. There are a least two places (not corporate) restaurants near by that serve great burger at way better prices (Chef Burger on Golf Club Rd & El Tapatio on Golf Club Rd - they have great mexican food AND great burger and steak sandwich)
Take my advise and go local and stay away from BJs!!!
