So I did give them another chance since a dear friend lives their French macaroons I thought I'd try again- for her sake. I was welcomed by a much nicer experience. The person who helped me was friendly, smiled and even went out of her way to get additional flavors from the back that were not out on display. It was like day and night from my first experience.
Hailey is amazing with our son! No matter how difficult he is- she does a fantastic job and we always leave very pleased with her work! We have taken our son to salons and barber shops in the past and always felt horrible for how he acted in these more traditional settings. He is comfortable and the stigma isn't there if you child cries or acts scared at all seeing as they specialize in children's haircuts. It is totally worth the drive for us. If you have small children - especially ones that don't Ike getting haircuts-I highly recommend Snip-It's.
I must have missed something here...I don't get all these good reviews I see here. Not my experience at all. I've given DYE 3 different chances and have decided officially never again. My last experience I went for a cut & color and started out with one stylist - then "Billy" started working on my hair - THEN LEFT THE SALON and then a third different stylist finished my cut. I didn't ask for anything extravagant or complicated just a full head color and cut - no hi /lo lights. Billy's personality was a bit too ADHD for my taste and I honestly think he must have consumed a pot of coffee or a 6 pack of Red Bull (or perhaps something else ) while working on my hair. All in all it was a pretty disjointed and stressful (READ: Not relaxing) experience and I'm done. Which is a bummer because I had high hopes. I've since moved on and found a stylist that can be hip and creative with my hair and actually pay attention to me while I'm in her chair.
In the years that I have been going here I have never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and most importantly the bagels are the best I've had. Their cream cheeses are to die for! - my fave is the veggie cream cheese that is great on any type of savory bagel like onion, garlic, rye, etc. The best part is the bagels seem to stay warm for a really long time - even if you pick up a dozen to treat your office staff and drive in to work with them. Try their sandwiches too - good stuff!
Just "OK"... I tried Public House for the first time recently during lunch on a weekday. Staff was nice - but not overly friendly which is fine with me. Ordered a few sliders. Music was kick a$$, decor was very hip. Personally I prefer the taste and selection of Green Dot Stables in Detroit. I will give this place another try and see if my experience changes.
I recently stopped into this location with my son for a burger and fries. I need to make a special shout out to our server "Brad" who was fantastic. Good attitude, attentive, nice to my kid (which is huge to me)
My go to is usually the Bansai Burger - but this time I decided to "build my own" and it was delicious. Fries were tasty and definitely bottomless.
Being a server is a tough gig - and this dude made it seem effortless - really appreciated the good food and service.
This place is BS...always has been. I grew up in Wyandotte and come back time to time to visit family. I see that this place really only wants to deal with small town "regulars" (READ: if we have never seen you before maybe you should go back to wherever you came from)
Food- meh- I mean it is Downriver after all...
Service -absolute BS- server had a chip on her shoulder the minute we walked in. I thought I'd give this place another shot- huge mistake. Won't be back- much much better fare down the road-or anyplace besides this hole.
One word - YUCK!!! When I saw this place featured on Under the Radar Michigan I was excited to try it out. What I left was irritated and disappointed. Our server had a serious attitude and acted as if we were bothering her when when we asked for something as simple as extra napkins. The food was gross- sad crumbs if crumbled turkey- dry " home made mashed potatoes". Everything about our "meal" and I use that term loosely for this place - was bad. I would not suggest this abomination of an eatery to anyone who expects good food or good service. Thanks but no thanks I'll take my business elsewhere...
This location has yet to disappoint me. Very consistently good quality pastries for all types. I've had both the chocolate cannoli and their french macaroons and both are to die for. The service is exceptional as well - always very friendly when I have been there. I would go to this location over the Royal Oak location. Not sure why but I feel overall the quality of the pastries at the Detroit Greektown location are superior to their Royal Oak counterpart. Simply put - this place is the bomb....
Should have gone on yelp before dining! If we had, we would have know this was pretty much just a cheap breakfast only type spot. Recently my family decided to try this place out and really weren't very impressed.
The split pea soup wasn't bad- but the shepherd's pie had odd seasonings - so instead i opted to try something "safe" so I went for the chicken strips dinner... Big mistake- the chicken was battered in what taste like fish batter. It was bizarre and bad and we won't be back.
On a positive note- the staff was nice- and that goes a long way with me... Unfortunately not enough to go back for bad food....
