If I could give this Kaiser pharmacy zero stars, I would. There is always a line, always, they move like snails, and the old, fat, white-haired crotchety dried up pharmacy clerk who does the prescription drop offs, who has like one person at any given time waiting in line should be fired. She's slow, rude (watch out for her pinched up face if you step forward too soon). She should have retired when the giants won the cup (the 1st time). Hey Ms. Crotchety, Elmo wants his voice back.
I read the reviews and was excited to try out this place, but when I emailed Aleen to set up an appointment, asking for openings today or tomorrow, she said she didn't have any and that was that.
I mean seriously? You call that customer service? At least if you're going to reply, respond back with times you DO have (is this person not very smart or what?). I'm not impressed at all, and would NEVER trust a person who can't be bothered to give good service in an email with my hair.
I met Lily, who was extremely friendly, and the service overall was pleasant. I bought the deluxe pedicure ($41) I was very pleased with the salt scrub, oil and peppermint mask the lady put on my legs and feet. I would like to emphasize that my feet are pretty soft, and for just a pedicure with no massage expectations, you would do good going here for the regular pedicure.
However, I was expecting to get a hot stone massage since it was the deluxe--which I assumed was included but apparently is not, and was disappointed, since I came mainly to get my feet massaged because I have very inflamed tendons; I had to ask specifically for a foot massage twice. I even asked for a massage when I realized that she was not going to, and after the male tech translated, she didn't do a very impressive job; she used her thumbnail, which scratched my foot and made the experience unpleasant, but at that point I was just desperate to have a foot rub my feet were aching so bad. Like Rebecca H's review, I found she cut uncomfortably close to my cuticle ends, and would not want to go through that bit again. :0/
Overall, I was not impressed with the pedicure, but would give the place another try if the male technician was working I might, since I need the deep tissue massage. There are also two other women who I am not sure perform pedicures.
This place has the best papaya salad! The service is not too friendly, but they're efficient enough. If you go at 11 am, you beat the lunch crowd. I had the beef garlic noodles; it was alright, the noodles were chow mein style, which I didn't care for, but the beef was good.
I would definitely come back, if only for the salad.
Today I got a tattoo on my wrist that I created myself. I knew I needed some final details added to it, and hoped the artist would help me out, and also hoped it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg for color work. I called and made an appointment with Jaime, who said he could work out the price with me. He also drew out what I wanted, since my drawing was sketchy at best. Jaime is very sweet and will work with you to get exactly what you want, while being very professional and informative. I showed him what I wanted, and he added little details here and there I didn't think of. It is better than I imagined it would turn out, and I am VERY pleased with the result. At the end he even gave me a hug :)
This is the place to go IF:
-You like a nice view of the ocean
-You fancy good seafood
-You like cheesy 20s-30s music played by dudes who look like teaching is their 9-5
-You like a loud room filled with families
-You aren't on a first date, and know from lip reading what your partner is saying
-You don't mind being a minority of...ANY kind and being stared at
The service was OK, not fantastic, but it was super busy on Saturday night. The waitress was this older lady who had to be asked a couple times for waters.
I ordered the fish and chips, because the menu seemed expensive compared to the inside of the place (crammed into a medium-sized room with loud conversations whizzing around us). I wasn't sure if it would be the same story for the food.
It didn't disappoint. I ate everything on my plate, save for a couple stray fries. Those were promptly snatched up by my boyfriend.
Their menu is impressive, expansive, and expensive, the food speaks for itself as it is coming towards you on a big hot platter.
I was surprised by the lack of diversity in there; seriously, I KNOW this is Pacifica, the last bastion of white civilization in the greater Bay Area, but come on. I don't blame the restaurant, but the atmosphere was a bit uncomfortable. I honestly didn't feel very welcome, received a few funny looks, not unfriendly, but who likes to feel like a strange specimen under observation while munching on a fried fish? Not I!
Honey, looks like the natives are NOT friendly!
IDK, maybe I came on an off night. Everyone else seems to not have seen anything out of the ordinary...
Anyhow, with a few stiff drinks this place is OK. I came for ok food, received delicious food, and left a little unsettled, but sated and sleepy :)
I am pretty happy with this place; I do not come here for anything but the neutering of my dogs, because they have a sliding scale that is very reasonable, and the time my dog had a swollen lid. Luckily I was able to get Indy into the office the next day, and he was seen promptly and was treated. The doctor was very friendly and professional. I like this facility because it is clean, and wide open.
I read the reviews below and was impressed with how well-treated clients are. I called today to make an appointment and was able to schedule one for both of my pups for tomorrow. That's quick service! I am very excited to be going to this clinic because it seems like my pups will get excellent service. I will write another review once I actually go tomorrow.
