It's a very well-appointed and comfortable inn, lovingly created out of the McCloud River Lumber Company offices. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. This is our second stay here and we love it. The innkeepers and owners are polite, courteous and willing to help. When we found out that one of the local restaurants that we are planning on visiting had closed (as others have noted, McCloud has limited dinner choices), the owner quickly called to make arrangements for us at the McCloud Hotel, which was fantastic, as it was last time we were here. In the morning, they made a special and delicious vegan breakfast for me. The breakfast setting in the parlor at one large table, is very conducive to conversation with the other guests, and we've had some very nice interactions there. On the downside, there are no televisions in the rooms (which is not a problem for us). But there is free wi-fi. We've really enjoyed our stay at this inn as a getaway from the Bay Area and we plan to return. We highly recommend this B&B.
My key WAS stuck in my front door lock, I swear. Ken ( I assume this was Ken!) met me at my house when I asked him to, and pulled it right out. OMG. So embarrassed. Didn't charge me a cent, told me my day was going to get better, and I have found my locksmith. Thank you!
We booked a party here to celebrate a milestone for our daughter. Sahar was really wonderful in helping us choose wines and food; she lent me a menu, then invited us in to sample and make choices. Later, she sent me an email tallying what we had ordered, asking a few questions about what would happen if some wines went better than others, or if the food amount seemed right. Very thorough and thoughtful, and really let me know I was in good hands. This is the first party I haven't cooked for myself, and boy was it wonderful. Great food, fabulous service, wonderful pricing, impeccable atmosphere.... I can't rave enough. Gonna think about how we can plan another event here!
My son has been learning ukelele at Sonoma County Children's Music for a couple of years now, and it's WELL WORTH the trek from Petaluma to Santa Rosa to take part in this engaging, exciting family of musicians. One of the other students in his tight-knit class hails from Windsor, and we all agree that this is an important part of our children's learning and growing experience. Our kids have gained not only a true understanding of how to strum and pick the ukelele and read music, but also self confidence and a realization that practice makes perfect. Fran's lovely mix of encouragement and discipline has been fantastic. We applaud Sonoma County Children's Music!
I've been here twice in two weeks now, and I have to say that the food is fresh, and there's lots of it. The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is just what you want in a deli: the menu is clear, the food is the focus, and the seating is comfortable enough for the time it takes to eat. The sandwiches are big enough for two people, and between 6.50 and 8. That's 3-4 dollars a person. We had a chicken ceasar salad today, and that could've fed three people. Really nice place. Open M-F, and they have great breakfast foods too: burritos, breakfast sandwiches, bagels... Oh, and they deliver lunches for business meetings and such.
For dogs and original sandwiches with that old-fashioned neighborhood-place kind of vibe, this place is fabulous. My husband and I like to go there on Friday afternoons for lunch and are never disappointed by the service or the food. Really friendly staff, original concoctions written all over the walls, plus a big menu. Yay!
A good friend suggested Petaluma Wireless, and I've been going there ever since. With three kids and two adults with phones in our family, things can get pretty hairy sometimes. No matter WHAT the problem has been, Damon has solved it for us: when one kid lost her phone at college and someone else picked it up and began using it, when another dropped hers into a place that wouldn't be cleared for months, when we needed to use one person's upgrade for another person's number.. every time the problem has been solved without ever having to deal with pushy salespeople. Never going back to the Verizon store again. And Damon fixes iPhones...
I lived in Japan for 15 years, and although I like sushi joints and some of the places in Japantown are OK, but this is the first place I've been that really takes me back, while not completely imitating traditional izakaya food. Everything we've had is awesome. We've not had much of the meat, but all of the veggie and fish dishes surprise and satisfy. The chef and his manager and staff all speak Japanese, and are very friendly. Highly recommended for any kind of occasion!
We stayed here for three days over New Years and had a fabulous time. The owners are gracious and treated all the guests like family. Over the sumptuous and hearty breakfast and games at night, we got to know the other families and felt right at home. It was truly a memorable and relaxing stay. Mary and Tino were so kind, even to all of the children who were staying there, including our four, and we felt very welcome. FIVE STARS, for sure!
