Your typical 7-11. Not much selection, but it gets the job done. If you want alcy, its there. The typical 40s, four lokos, tilts, etc. There's even wine/champagne, which is weird to me. If you want snacks its there too. There's a ton of chocolates/candy/chips. Pretty nice workers if you catch them on a good day. The thing i love about this place is that it's near my apt and there's a redbox right outside. The thing I don't like, bums chillin right by the red box askin you for money. I'm sad for and a little bit scared of them when they ask me for my change. So I get in and out of there as fast as I can.

      Overall, it's A-OK w me.

My new favorite ice cream shop!

      Cliff Notes Version:
Welcoming workers. Rich, sweet, delicious, aromatic ice cream. One scoop $3. Two Scoops $4.50. Warm and friendly customers and atmosphere amidst the busy bldv of Westwood.

      Full Version:
Saffron & Rose Ice Cream, I write my first ever yelp review about you, you wonderful, homely little shop abundant with rich, delicious persian ice cream. *drools.... anyway

Check it: my friend and I walk in, and the only worker there was helping a group ahead of us. He politely says he'll help us soon enough. We don't mind because we are still quite full from our lunch and quite inexperienced with the ice cream flavors they are known for. When the group leaves, he realizes we don't know squat about what to order. He quickly gives us samples of the white rose, the saffron and pistachio, pomegranate blueberry, and cookies and cream. ALL WERE AWESOME!

So we get the one scoop because it's $3 (two scoops is $4.50) and ask for one flavor. BUUUT he told us we can get two half scoops of different flavors. We did that but they were definitely NOT half scoops. They were very full scoops to me! haha.

Anyways, as we were paying for our White Rose&Pomegranate Bluebbery and Dark Chocolate&Cookies and Cream, I ask what this white / slushy thing was. I don't remember what he called it but he let us have a sample ( a very generous sample). It was a cold white slushy thing with small, short, frozen noodles (?) and he mixed it with the poppy seed slush, some lemon juice, and cherry syrup. BOMB DIGGETY! It was super sweet/tangy, so too much would have been sickening. His sample was just right.

My friend and I walked out, but lingered because we wanted to be true yelpers and check in, take a photo, and post it up on our favorite social networking sites. Then the worker comes outside of the shop, asks us if we want to stay and eat by the sidewalk. We say yes, so homeboy CARRIES A TABLE OUT TO US! We were like O_O what the eff? This guy is the shiznit.

We got to enjoy our rich ice cream (super-packed flavorful, even aromatic, and filling) on the sidewalk of Westwood blvd watching the cars pass by during rush hour.

So four stars for the awesome food and feel of the small place. Plus one star for the kindest, most generous and most hospitable cutie patootie working there, Fred.
