I just had the swarma and chicken rice plate and I want it again. This was so simple but soo freaking good. The rice is a dark yellow long rain and the chicken and swarma nice and moist. The hot sauce is pretty hot so get it on the side and be gentle.
This review has nothing to do with the food as I was never served food. In fact I got no service at all. It started fine, the hostess sat us down and with menus and the same promise out as most food outings go, we were shown to a tablewith menus and the anticipation of a delicious meal. After 5 mins no one came back, let's give them a few minutes.....another 20 minutes passed and we just got up and left. No one came to stop us, nothing. What to do, we got up and went to Chipotle. Not a good start.
Cheap, fast, and good. I never understand how they keep their prices so low, but I am not complaining. My regulars are Banh Mi ( i get all different types), Egg Rolls, Cafe Sua Da, Green Tea, and any of the premade lunches. Everything I've gotten is solid. My favorite is the chicken soup. It comes with pho noodles, very clean broth, and a quarter leg and thigh of bbq chicken. That combo really works for me. Anytime I am feeling under the weather this is my go to.
Beefy!!!! It's been 30 minutes and I am in the midst of full blown food coma. My field of vision is narrowing. So if I stop making sense at some point you'll know why. The meaty texture and flavor are spot on. The bun comes out smashed in the ghetto aluminum foil wrappers. They offer a good selection of options to customize your burger for no additional charge. Gotta love that. The only gripe i have is they used canned mushrooms! Serious gross. It's like putting ketchup on a nice filet.
A note on the price, it cost me $14( $13 and some change) for a burger, fries, and soda. That's nearly double the cost of In and Out. A little pricey. But a good burger none the less.
I can feel the walls starting to close in on me. Time for siesta.
This is the Gelson's for mountain folk with a mom and pop feel. The produce selection is good, they have a bakery and a deli. We went on Friday and they had beer tasting and on Saturday they BBQ'd. Seems to be an integral part of the community.
Charming B&B walking distance to downtown. The Inn is well maintained, the breakfast is awesome, and Beth the inn keeper was very nice. It's been a while but I've been dreaming of a return. I would be sitting in the garden with a glass of pinot noir, a good book, and my wife rubbing my feet. A guy can dream.
Chang's Garden is on my B list. Not because it has a B health rating, though it most likely does (in case you didn't know we Asians have no issues with B ratings) Not be cause it's bad because I like the food and service are on par with every other Chinese restaurant in Arcadia. The problem is that the competition for restaurants that serve similar food is sooo high. This tree gets lost in the woods. If this restaurant was located in Studio City, it would be a 5 star.
Food is solid, prices are right on and the parking is good. I'll be back.
The meat pies are explosive both in flavor and in juices....or grease. Depends on your perspective. In some circles fat is flavor. To me it was very tasty and I didn't mind the mild juice burns as I bit into them. For those weary of being burned, let the meat pies rest a few minutes. Unlike soup dumplings these meat pies taste just as good after they've had a chance to cool down.
I've been here several times and always leave wanting more. Everything taste home made and well seasoned. We normally order the beef roll, mixed pie plate, onion pancake, and the beer noodle soup.
Our go to Taiwanese breakfast spot. They have all of the typical items in a slightly upscale environment. Modern decor with clean lines, combination menus, and the price is bit higher than what you might expect for this type of food. But they food is consistently good and the garlic sauce is so good.
There is plenty of parking, smallish dinning room (seats under 30), and is cash only.
