All these 5 star reviewers who have written a total of less than 5 reviews makes me wonder.
Our service was slow and inattentive, also forgetful. He didn't bring refills of beers or wine after we had ordered them. Also took forever to bring the bread, and I'm talking a good 20 minutes after we had ordered. We were a big group of 10, but it also was less than busy when we were dining.
For the price and what they advertise, we were very disappointed. The fish were all over cooked, rice portions were small, the steaks were not great pieces of meat because of the line of ligaments running through them, AND they were also over cooked. One of the orders even came out wrong. The best things I ate were their sourdough loaf bread and the ahi poke nachos. My sister's fish tacos weren't good either. Our server was nice enough, but hardly checked in throughout the 2.5 hours we were there.
I don't see this place lasting long.
I haven't written a good ole yelp review in years, but I came here to give 5 stars+ to Hoops413. My 6 year old son attended their 1 week summer camp, and also completed an 8 week session of beginners basketball. All of the teachers and counselors were SO nice, friendly, well-mannered. Communication has been concise and prompt. My son had SO much fun at the camp, I wish they offered it more than 1 week out of the summer. And he enjoyed his time getting to learn skills and do drills in the basketball sessions. It helped hone in on his early interest in the sport, and I liked that the sessions weren't just "open free play" of shooting, if you will. They split the large group into smaller groups for more individual drills and attention, and would scrimmage at the end.
Hoops413 came highly recommended, and now I'm wanting to return the favor. Amazing organization!

OMG. My husband said he hasn't seen me enjoy a meal like that in a long time (I kept grunting and exclaiming how good it was between bites). Don't come here if you're looking for food where you won't get your hands dirty because the grease and oil sure drips out of those tacos. But you know what? They're delicious and make for a tasty cheat meal. Dip in that beef broth and oh man. Such a good bite every time.
5 stars for the movers themselves- the 3 guys who showed up to move my piano and move my mom across town were SUPER nice guys, very efficient and hardworking. They were great at moving all the furniture and boxes, and got my piano down a flight of stairs with a breeze. I had been having visions of piano movers dropping the piano down the stairs and have it sailing through the wall, so I was very impressed with the ease that they were able to move it.
I docked 1 star because whoever I was dealing with in the office just could not get the job right: I was having the piano moved from my place to my mom's, then the movers were to continue moving my mom out of her house. While the man I spoke to on the phone was very nice, he just couldn't understand for some reason, and even called me back a couple of times to make sure he got the move right. I'm not gonna lie, I was left feeling a little uneasy because of all the confirming he had to do. I did receive a confirmation call the day before, but lo and behold, the morning of the move, the movers went straight to my mom's house instead of coming to mine to get the piano first... which was just what I was afraid of. They said they were not told they had to come to me first. It wasn't a huge snafu, since I only lived 2 miles away from my mom, but it did prolong the whole process unnecessarily.
But that being said, my mom had a great moving experience with them, and the guys were really great.
Let me preface this by saying I typically would get my cakes from Torrance Bakery, until my sister told me that her coworkers were raving to her about Susie Cakes' birthday cake. I placed an order for the larger size for my son's birthday.
They couldn't have been easier to deal with- I paid in person when I went to order it and gave them the customized message for the top of the cake. When I went to pick it up, there was NO parking to be found so I did curbside pick up. The guy brought it out to my car, telling me the cake can sit out at room temperature and sending me on my way with a smile.
This cake is solid- heavy AF. But omg. So. Good. It was a cute teal/light blue frosting color, and the inside was the confetti birthday cake. The cake is definitely on the sweeter side, but it's SO moist and so decadent and good. Every single person at the party raved about it, and every single kid scarfed down a slice (I mean, what kid wouldn't??)
I will say that their cakes are on the pricier side, but you pay for the quality. I also got a dozen mini cupcakes, and those were equally delicious!
