I noticed this place opened up during the summer but haven't gotten the chance to try it till now. I am not an expert at Filipino food but I've tried most of the Filipino place in the city. This place is one of the best I've tried so far. The menu is small so it's perfect for someone indecisive like me. I got the noodle dish, a pork dish ( that was from the daily special menu) and the veggie spring rolls and I loved everything. It came out just a little over 20 bucks and fed two hungry people with leftovers. Also, the lady at the cash register was super sweet. You can see the kitchen and everything looks really clean! I am definitely want to try the adobo and other daily specials next time!!

I always see Dos Toros everywhere and decided to give it a try when I was craving tacos one day.

The set up here is REALLY similar to chipotle. I got the tacos and I wasn't that impressed. They weren't that filing and the flavor was ok but not memorable. The total came out to be around the same as a burrito bowl at chipotle but way less filling. Maybe I should have gotten a bowl or burrito instead to get the true experience??!

OBSESSED! Although the tacos here aren't really that authentic (at least to my experience), they are so good! One of the better ones I've had in the city.

The tortilla: To me, the tortillas are really different here, but not in a bad way. I normally LOVE corn tortillas because I really enjoy the taste and texture. The ones here don't have the same quality but they are super sturdy. Normal tortillas would usually break but this one held up the whole time, which is great!

The Meat: I've tried the carnitas and carne asada and they are both super flavorful! I especially love the carne asada even though I've never been much of a steak girl. But the ones here are cooked to perfection and it's cut at the perfect size. They don't skink out on the meat either! If I am not too hungry, one taco is a satisfying amount.

The other stuff: It comes with diced onions, sprinkle of cilantro and a side of radishes. It's 50 cent extra for guacamole. Get the guac!! It's the cherry on top! Also, don't forget to try all the self serve sauces towards the back!

My friend got the nachos and it is massive!! It's perfect for sharing and just as delicious as the tacos!

I was craving thai and decided to try this place since it's close to my place and has great reviews on Yelp. Got there at around 7:30 on a Sunday night and had to wait about 15 - 20 minutes for a table. When I was seated, I noticed that my seat was wet but I didn't think too much of it and just put my napkin over the seat. After couple minutes of sitting down, I felt a water drop and it happened over and over again. When I looked up, I noticed that there were condensation on the collected on the AC pipes above me. My back got a little soaked from the water and I brought up the issue with my waitress and the girl sitting at the table next to me chimed in. But the waitress just told us she can't do anything about it... really disappointed that she didn't even offer for a change of seat. If it wasn't for this, I would have given them a 3.5 - 4.

Anyways, we ordered the drunken noodles and thegreen curry. The drunken noodles was delicious! It was really nicelly cooked and has a lot of heat. The green curry was also good but the portion was a bit small. If I hadn't pay the additional $3 for chicken the curry would only be consist of a couple pieces of eggplant and peppers. For most of the dishes, you have to pay extra for veggies, tofu or meat. The only thing that made up for the expensive dishes was that you can one free glass of wine or beer if you check in on Yelp.

To sum it up, the food was good but pricey! If you're spice wuss, you might want to ask the waiter/waitress if the dishes could be made with less spice! Also, check to see if there are check in deals!

When I passed by this place couple days before it opened, I was super impressed by the look of the store front and signage and knew I want to try out the place. Upon entering, I noticed the all the trendy and modern decor. If I was judging the restaurant on the design alone, I would give this place a 5! But besides that, the place is really just ok... :/

The dumplings were 6 for 8 dollars!! More than a dollar a piece!! That's about four times more expensive than other dumpling places such as Vanessa's or Prosperity!!! I also saw they they offered market sides for 5 dollars.

Here's my breakdown of the dumplings ( I only got the pork ones because I can't justify spending ~24 dollars on dumplings)

THE SKIN: Nice and thin but they DO NOT make their own skins. They use the kind you can get at most asian marts.
THE FILLING: Not impressed. Though it's juicy, the ingredients aren't combined well, it sort of crumbles and there isn't much meat. It tasted pretty bland with a overpowering ginger flavor. I love ginger but I couldn't taste the meat at all. It definitely tasted "healthy" because I sense that they don't use a lot of fatty pork.
THE SAUCE: They offer a secret MiMi Cheng's dumpling sauce that definitely enhances the flavor of the dumpling, but it's nothing special, it simply tasted like a blend of soy sauce, spicy oil and vinegar.

In general, I have to give them credit for using grass fed, locally sourced, organic meat. The place is also nicely decorated and looks super clean, which is rare for Chinese restaurants. But if you're familiar with dumplings or grew up eating them, you will be disappointed. These dumplings are far from being authentic.
