First time coming here was our third stop on a pub crawl. We were told they had the best steak tips around and they weren't wrong. Absolutely stupendous. The drinks are in no way watered down and are so affordable.
Not to crowded because it's not on the main downtown strip which is what I like about it. Really a local bar. People come from all the surrounding cities to go to Tavern or Murphy's. They are overcrowded, overpriced and just too much of a hassle for what they actually have to offer which is rude rushed service and an atmosphere that matches.
If your looking for just a nice night out with friends, good food, better drinks without the hassle of a bar trying to act like a club, Major's is the place. I would rather go here any day then any of those other bars.
According to the date of the last reviewer who said they just opened. Wrong. They had opened many months prior to the review. Their food is amazing an totally worth the price. The menu is posted on-line if you truly are curious. I was so happy when this place opened in Salem because i hated when the Swampscott location closed. They are actually really personable people and always talk to everyone that comes in because they do want to know their customers.
My boyfriend is absolutely obsessed with their food and so am I. I don't know where they get their french bread for the subs, but it's the best
One of the few 7-11's that are still 24 hours. Always clean and stocked. The guys their are wicked nice. With the exception of the high school stoner townies that hang out outside all the time, it's a pretty good store.
Even though it doesn't exactly beat Engine house pizza it definitely comes close. Pretty much everything on their menu is cheap and taste good.
This place obviously gets real busy at tourist season aka. October, so keep that in mind when you are deciding on a pizza choice.
This place has been here for as long as I can remember so out of all the places in this little mall that have come and gone, this place remains, so that has to say something about it.
I went there today for an early dinner with my boyfriend. I suggested to him based on pure recommendation and also the fact that I am a life long Salem resident and have never been there before.
No one else was there eating when we got there, just a few people at the bar watching the Sox game, but this was before dinner time.
The waitress we had was very nice and we could tell was also pretty much new. She was very courteous and offered us napkins to dry off because we did in fact walk there in the rain.
He ordered the Leslie's retreat which in boneless friend chicken with a choice of two sides and I ordered the Colonel's choice which is Steak tips with a choice of two sides. (Side note: All sandwiches on the lunch menu are also offered for dinner)
He loved the boneless chicken to a point where he said he may not order anything else. He believes from the taste that this is nothing that is pre-made but they fry the chicken with they're own breading and everything. I had a piece and it tasted delicious. The steak tips were great as well. One of my hang ups is when I order steak well done and they serve it to me burnt which is something this place did not do. I very much appreciate that. Obviously their cooks know what they're are doing.
I would absolutely go here again and recommend it friends. I'm definitely looking forward to going here for breakfast because I here that that is when Leslie's is at it's busiest.
P.S. The times for listed for open business for this place are wrong. They are closed all day Mondays and are not always open to 1pm as listed.
