New to Olympia and was in the mood for good pizza and cheap beer. BINGO...Old School Pizzeria! Divey setting with 80's memorabilia and red plastic covered booth seats, great pizza, and PBR on tap. I think it was $26 for a medium pizza(good size for a medium), pitcher of PBR, and a dinner salad that was large enough to feed 2.
New to Olympia and willing to give everywhere a chance. Always disappointed when trying bbq in the northwest....ribs should fall off of the bone! BBQ and Pizza combo should have been a warning of mediocrity...the bar had a decent selection, but the food was boring and the ribs just weren't cooked long enough. Service was good from the bartender. So the bar and service might bring me back in for a second chance, but i'll try elsewhere before going back anytime soon.
I feel really bad about this...I really want to like them and was excited to finally get some strret food carts on beacon. The first time I only tried a bite of the vegetarian torta that my girlfriend brought home. I was not impressed, because all I could taste was the sauce. I wanted to be fair as this was not enough to judge them on. I gave them a second chance and ordered a variety of tacos. I got 1 chorizo, 1 chicken, and 1 pork. Here's why I gave them such a low rating; 1. They all tasted the same (again the sauce covers up everything). 2. they are $2.50 each...that is double what a lot of taco trucks charge. 3. The flavor just wasn't very good. The chorizo (which they bragged about) was flavorless ground pork. And I couldn't really tell the difference between the chicken and the pork. I'm pretty sure they are braised in the same way.
I really wish this place was better, but I'm sad to say it just isn't very good.
